It was a windy, blustery day but by 4pm this is where I found most of the quilters mingling!
This sunny corner of the back porch has become a favorite spot for afternoon munchies and beverages - a step away from sewing machines and projects.
I made it through my 1pm ultrasound with flying colors - and ran a couple of errands before returning back to the inn.
I've wanted an outdoor rug for a long time for this corner as the metal rocking chairs leave their mark on the floorboards.
Win-win! This 7' X 10' rug not only has a beautiful pattern, but was 25% off. Happy day!
The dining chairs have tennis balls on their feet which looks kind of goofy, but they also do the job of protecting the porch floor.
So many projects are making great progress!
This is another Luminary quilt along with the intended background fabric. It's going to be lovely!
Fun checkerboard blocks on the design wall!
This is a tutorial by Film in the Fridge and is a fun one if you are looking for projects with no triangles.
What's happening here with these gorgeous fabrics?
One block on the design wall!
I love how the deer is positioned in the upper left corner.
Fall Flowers by Gigi's Thimble.
Pretty colors in this 3-yard quilt!
Two applique blocks on the wall -
And another on the machine!
Someone is making little stars!
I love the organization of stacking block parts on paper plates to keep them sorted and separated. And of course, plates are always reusable!
Running out of space here - we took to the floor for more room!
It takes a village to decide on the best block placement!
we think we have the colors finally balanced -
Aspiring Stars by Sew On The Go.
There are sashings, and even though the pattern didn't show it, the maker wanted cornerstones to connect everything so I ran nextdoor to the QPO to find an a piece of aqua batik that will work.
The best projects truly do take a village and connects us all in the most wonderful of ways.
Over the porch rail photos will happen this afternoon - so hopefully we'll have more of this one to share.
More sunshine enjoyment and breaks were taken.
And the totem trunk shown in yesterday's post is down!
Bye bye, nasty old blue spruce!
Not sure if they are going to grind that stump down, but it's sure nice to have this area open to view the creek beyond.
This is the next hexie unit I've started....I'm enjoying the ladies in the afternoon when I can set work aside and sit and enjoy.
Today we hope to get out on an early afternoon road hike....the wind finally died down.
It's Saturday - Any plans coming together where you are?
LOL, Love your quote today. I'm still chuckling! So glad the quote says I'm the smartest woman in the room instead of smartest one in the room. Since it's just me and the dog, I need the qualification because sometimes I do something dumb and the dog just looks at me with her "what were you thinking" look and I begin to question my own intelligence.
ReplyDeleteNew rug looks beautiful on the porch! Perfect match. We used to put tennis balls on elementary student chair legs to keep down the screeching noise and floor wax destruction. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely projects being worked on. Have a great weekend everyone, Jenny
It was an Up before t by e Sunrise day to watch the Balloons Launch. Happy Mothers Day weekend!
ReplyDeleteA pot of bright flowers on the stump would be nice. Ellen Thompson
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern for those beautiful applique blocks?
