National Dog Day and More -

These two went for a car ride yesterday - they were so excited.  They LOVE car rides.

In fact, we can't even SAY the words "Car Ride" around them because they KNOW. They know what that means, and there is all kinds of squealing and jumping around and happy tails all the way to the car.

Yes, we end up spelling it out "C-A-R-R-I-D-E!" to each other because we think that they can't spell.

But who are we fooling?

Vet appointment #2 far the second round of Lyme vaccines.

And hopefully this time Zoey would actually allow them to trim her nails - last time she would not.  So she was just a bit drugged up for this visit.  Poor thing.

I think she slept through her pedicure.  LOL!

Mabel couldn't be bothered to care - just a quick shot by a vet tech and she was good to go.

And yes, there was a stop for ice cream (For the grownups) on the way back home.

That's all done for a while now.

Needless to say - no sewing happened yesterday.

The Stitch Mob gals headed out and it was all laundry and housework to get things ready for the next group's arrival.

But I do have some lovely photos from Sunday's excursion up to Grayson HIghlands - I had a couple of newbies to retreat with me and they wanted to go, so I was ready and willing.

Yes, there were full-sized horses with riders on the trail!

And there were ponies too.  We were thrilled.

See al that stuff blooming?

Allergies are on revolt!

It's not the goldenrod that is the problem - but the ragweed blooms at the same time as the goldenrod so if you SEE goldenrod - I just know.  Ugh!

Thanks for coming with me, ladies!

While we hiked - we saw that someone named LIsa nad formed her name out of small rocks.  We see you, Lisa!

This view never gets old!

Only stitching has been this -

I've moved my hoop to quilt the second round of fans up the 3rd side.  It's coming along!

I love running my fingers over the quilted texture!

There is just something special about hand quilting.

Here's the flip side -

Evening slow down and slow stitching time is my favorite time of the day.

Today? I've got to get these kits made for my Kenya travelers - that trip is coming up quickly!

There is a bunch of desk work that needs to happen as well (I hate that! I want to play!) and I need to decide what I'll be doing for our Australia project - that's coming up in January and I need to be ahead of the game.

I'm thinking something with flowers native to Australia - something fun to stitch up that will bring spring back with us when we return home to winter here.

Have you thought of coming on this trip with me?  Spaces are filling and the number of folks we can bring is limited.  Click my Craftours tab for more info.  I"m looking forward to being somewhere amazing and warm during January which has a tendency to be a bit icy here at home.

It's also my 63rd birthday while we are on this trip - come celebrate my birthday with me!

The pattern release of  Eclipsed has been absolutely phenomenal! Thank you!

The one thing I've had emails on is folks outside of the USA having trouble with the Buy Now button as it uses autofill and as they are international, they then get a message saying that we don't ship outside of the USA.

PDF patterns are not shipped. There is no problem if you simply add the item to the shopping cart, then click to the shopping cart and choose either your PayPal or Credit Card option.  It should process just fine from there. It has something to do with purchasing digital files with the BUY NOW button if you are international.

Do not use the Buy Now button.  Add the item to your cart and then click the cart and check out the normal way.

Sorry for the headache - but give this a try and see if it works for you.

Also - if you've downloaded and can't find where your PDF went on your device - do a SEARCH by pattern name. Most of my issues come from iPhone/iPad users who don't know where to look.

How to find a PDF on an iPhone in Files.

The broadest place to look for your PDF is in the Files app. You’ll be able to find it there if it’s on your iPhone.

  1. Open the Files app.
  2. Tap Browse > On My iPhone.
  3. Search your folders for the PDF.

It’s very likely that the PDF ended up in the Downloads folder, so search there first.

How to search for PDF files on an iPhone.

Using the search function on your iPhone might be one of the simplest ways to find the PDF that you’ve downloaded. Here are the steps for using the search function:

  1. Swipe down to find the search field.
  2. Enter the name of the PDF into the search field.
  3. Tap Show More to scroll further through searches.
I really hope this helps!

  1. Good morning. It's overcast here today . Maybe some rain.
I need to dump my string basket over to see what's in there!! Yep time for a mess. Oh well.
I think I have around 100 blocks made or quarter blocks I should say. Zoey and Mabel are just precious dogs. You got very lucky when you adopted.
    Have a Sparkling day
    Blessings 💞 🙏

  2. Love your quote! I do the same to folks who think that sitting on my bumper will make me drive faster! Nope! Only makes me drive slower!

  4. My granddog still lives with me even though his hooman moved back with their parents. He has to be drugged to go to the vet too. Even had to have his last round of vaccines and nails trimmed while under anesthesia to have his teeth cleaned.

No sewing for me today. I tackled wood floors with Weiman's hardwood cleaner and followed up with the polish while Lucy is at doggy daycare today. It looks like new. I have a hair appointment and on the way I will drop off 2 quilts to the quilter. It's going to be hot again today and I miss the beautiful fall weather we had last week. When I get back I'll have to cut outore pieces for Bonnie's My Blue Heaven
    It's coming along.

We had a black lab that we couldn't say the word walk in a sentence eg We went for a walk yesterday. Animals are smarter than we give them credit for. My daughter had a Boston Terrier who we swear could tell time. About ten minutes before she was due home from work she would start running from one room to another up on the bed, under tables. She would do this for a good ten minutes before my daughter got home. It was so funny to watch, they are such a joy.

  7. Moon flower went together so quickly. Glad to see it getting the binding. My favorite part. Perfect choice on that. Flowers in Australia are brighter. I got a piece of floral fabric for my birthday that was Australian. Eucalyptus is there too. Hubby went there on his Church Mission in the 1970's. He brought home tablecloths. I could send you pictures of the flowers.

I live reading of your adventures. Thanks for sharing. I know you will be expecting summer in Australia but I wanted to remind you that January is HOT and you will need to take a big hat!
