I think it's time for another fun Gift-Away!
I hope to keep the fun rolling through the month of December - bring on the holiday quilting spirit!
And though the two fabulous magazines shown here are full of holiday cheer - it's all about Valentines Day and spring projects (OH YES, can we get there please?!) but this will give you time to MAKE those projects over the long winter months ahead.
I am a happy Quiltmaker contributor, and am always thrilled with the quality of the magazine, and the projects you will find inside.
Beautiful magazines like this are a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration, full of skill builders and new techniques and they give us a birds eye view into the lives of other quilters who love to make and create with fabric and thread - just like we do!
Magazines are a fabulous bang-for-your-buck value with the amount of beautiful patterns and articles in each issue.
I've been receiving Quiltmaker Magazine since I first began to subscribe to magazines in my early quilting life.
Here are some of my favorites from the Jan/Feb 2021 issue:
Diamond in a Square by Bea Lee.
I love bold geometric designs - and this one has all of the movement with all of the graphic appeal!
Quarantine by Rachel M. Hayes
Doesn't this one just feel like spring is on the horizon! I would love digging into my scraps to make this beauty!
Stars by Day made by Bev Getschel
This one is pre-cut friendly. Do you have a charm pack or a layer cake and some jelly roll strips laying around? Pull them together for this fun quilt - The center is easy, and the border adds the WOW!
Heartmade by Charisma Horton
I love the masculine take on the Valentine heart theme - how perfect would this be for the guys (hubby, son, brother, father - you name it!) in your life?
Spinning Stars by Deanne Eisenman.
This scrappy star quilt has all the OH.MY.GOSH - just love love love it to pieces, don't you?
And where would we be without some Addicted to Scraps column fun?
A great way to feature those fun holiday neutrals!
This little ditty is called Ins & Outs, and I used my Essential Triangle Tool to cut the half-square triangles from Scrap User’s System width strips for easy construction.
You'll find traditional rotary cutting directions in the issue for this block.
Oh, and this Gift-Away has SO MUCH MORE!
Along with the Jan/Feb 2021 Quiltmaker issue -One lucky winner will receive:
The new McCalls Quilting Jan/Feb 2021 issue full of MORE great patterns!
Machingers for Free Motion Quilting.
Magic Clips (Great for holding binding in place)
Tula Pink Unicorn pins.
A box of my Quilty Pencils
I am also including:
A PDF pattern for my new Sugar Top quilt!
The pattern for Sugar Top includes many full color photos to guide you to success each step of the way!
This quilt is made using a 60 degree triangle ruler that is at least 8'' tall - check the pattern description for more info. I used the Clearview Super 60 Triangle available in the Quiltville Store.

And to go WITH the Sugar Top pattern our winner will receive:
A Sugar Top Color Roll from my friend Irene at Cotton to Quilts!
Plaids, ginghams and checks rolls are available at
Whether you’re enhancing your stash or creating Sugar Top for yourself or someone you love - Irene's got you covered!
Rolls are limited to stock on hand, and as with the rolls for our Grassy Creek Mystery and Pine Tree Point - you KNOW these are going to sell out fast. Don't wait!
Are you ready to win ALL OF THIS?!
*NOTE* Prize must be shipped to a USA Address. It is also highly unlikely that the prize winner will receive this by Christmas. I'm not saying impossible - but we need to cut the USPS some slack here. They are doing all they can. They are overwhelmed and delivery times are taking much longer than normal.
So it's SATURDAY! And I know I plan to sew - likely with more red. Because I like to celebrate the holiday season by sewing with the colors of the season. It gives me all of the holiday feels. Does it do the same for you?
How about your weekend ahead?
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Vintage Pennsylvania Dutch nine patch quilt shared by Siobhan.
Treat yourself gently, you are a work in progress.
Remember that it is sometimes harder to forgive yourself than it is to forgive others. But do it.

I am looking forward to another #mediafreesunday tomorrow.
I'll catch you back here on Monday!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
WOW! That's a fantastic bundle!
ReplyDeleteI now want to make a scrappy Diamond in a square with a cheddar & white background!
Yes cut the delivery people some slack. Like everywhere they are running on reduced staff due to Covid, during a time that they have always been busy. This year twice as many packages and they are adding in vaccine and immunization supplies to what they need to deliver. Vaccine has my priority.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely, generous gift-away, Bonnie! There is something familiar about your Ins and Outs block! Looking forward to working on the latest clue of your mystery this weekend. Hope you have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteWow - what a wonderful collection of things for your gift-away, Bonnie! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and providing inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly "second" your comments about Quiltmaker. I am a long-time subscriber and truly enjoy the magazine. Have a nice "media-free" day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the new gift-away! Would love to win but even if I don't, I love to read your blog and the vents in your life. You are so inspiring! Not a day goes by that I don't read and look for your blog. I appreciate all you do for us! I have had the pleasure of meeting you three times and you are fun! Loved seeing your presentation in Bedford, PA with Mary Koval and visiting with you over lunch with Carol Jones and then the last time when I gifted you some items for the Quiltville Inn. You were very gracious. One day I will get there to see the Inn in person. Take care of yourself and be good to yourself. You ARE Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments on Everwood. I am thoroughly enjoying watching this series. It brings back many memories of my late husband and sons while they were growing up. He was in the military and gone a great deal of the time.
ReplyDeleteSee this people! All this wonderful woman does is give, give. Bonnie, you a wonderful person and teacher. I have learned so much from you. Thank you for all you do.
ReplyDeleteBonnie - You are such an inspiration to sooooo many of us!! A dear friend of mine passed away this year and one of the main things she wanted done before she left this world was for me to finish up the borders on her "On Ringo Lake" quilt, quilt and bind it. We got it done and presented it to her only a few days before she left!! In honor of her I am going to attempt your Grassy Creek quilt!! Thank you for all you do for our wonderful quilting community!!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I am in LOVE with the “Stars by Day” and “Spinning Stars” quilts that you showed in today’s blog!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you!
I enjoy you and your blog, thank you for being so real. You are a quilting inspiration! I cannot keep up with you because you crank them out so quickly! Wow! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fun give away. I am finding your quotes very inspirational. They always are so positive and very needed right now. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWell said. Have a pieceful weekend.
ReplyDeleteGee, maybe after people see your Addicted to Scraps block they won't fret so much over Grassy Creek part three!! Look it's essentially the same block! Thank you for such wonderful gifts you give of yourself. I love your give aways and all of your free patterns and mystery quilts you share! As for the shipping aspect of your post, yes things are taking longer. I shipped 9 quilts to nieces and nephews in October, they were delivered in 1-2 days, I sent one the Monday after Thanksgiving and it took a week and a half to get there. As long as the tracking does not show "lost package", give it some time. Shipping companies are overwhelmed right now! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Gift Away! Quiltmaker is my fave too...been a subscriber since 1993 and have all the issues! Subscribe to others on and off, but have kept this one going! Thanks for all you do!
