July ‘19 Quilty Box Gift-Away!

Only two days left in July, so LET’S DO THIS!

All of these goodies arrived while I was on the road in Pennsylvania, and I opened the box with squeals of delight yesterday.

Oh. My. Goodness!

So much GREAT STUFF!

This is my first introduction to the artistry of Sarah Golden and her wonderful fabrics – I can’t wait to include them in future projects!

(Perhaps they will go right into this year’s Shoo Fly Shoo Leader & Ender Challenge?)

What is a Quilty Box?
Here are some highlights to keep in mind:
  • Quilty Box is a monthly subscription box of fun quilting supplies. We offer plans from $44-48/mo.
  • 5% of the profits of multi-month subscriptions are donated to Quilts for Kids - a non-profit which donates quilts for children in need
  • Each month we have 4 or more products (fabric, patterns, thread, or notions)
  • Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $60
  • We will be using the hashtags #QuiltyBox and #GetQuilty
Your support is appreciated. If you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to contact me.

MOVIE NIGHT!

Seeing YESTERDAY at the Blue Ridge Movie Lounge -

Our favorite movie venue EVER.

It was the perfect end to a bustling Monday playing catch up with all that had piled up while I was gone over the course of nearly two weeks.

Today I should breathe a bit easier!  I have machine quilting plans, as well as some quilt piecing plans – bring it on!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

My thoughts to some friends who are struggling.

The best words to live by:

Don't accept another person's truth as your own believing they know more than you. Test everything!

Don't accept others' interpretations as your own as they don't know where you are coming from.

(In other words, if they don't like what you post it is up to them to stop reading you instead of complaining about it to their own readership.)

Express your joy without fear of jealous public criticism. You've worked hard to be where you are and if your success is a thorn in someone else's side, that is something they need to move past as part of their own journey. This is yours.

Don't dim your light to make others feel more comfortable!

And most of all – Extend kindness and have an awesome Tuesday!

  7. Speaking of kindness, Bonnie...if you haven't already, I highly recommend watching After Life, and also Derek, on Netflix. Ricky Gervais is awesome in these two series. And his bottom line is always "kindness". Now, he does have some colorful language and humor, but the people (and animal) stories underneath are perfect and so touching! Giggles and tears in each episode.

  12. It is amazing what happens from reading your blog, Bonnie. Reading everyone's raves about Cheerwine, I hunted it down and drove across town to the store that carried it here in Phoenix. On the way home, I stopped in at a thrift store I don't get to very often. There on the shelf was a twin to my favorite sewing machine that I've had since I bought it brand new in 1976, my Elna air electronic SU. Because it had no electric cord and no foot "pedal" (its not really a pedal), which I have spare of at home!!, it was marked $7.99. And it was senior discount day, so I ended up paying $6 -- six dollars -- for a wonderful workhorse of a machine. I'll clean it up, replace the few missing parts and give it to my daughter or granddaughter. They've already got Featherweights and Singer 66 red eyes.

    2. Valerie, I also bought that Elna machine new and love it. Such a quiet and dependable machine to take to guild sew days. I have a featherweight but like the Elna better. You got a great deal.
      I like Cheerwine too.

  13. Love reading your blog Bonnie and what you are doing next. You truly are an inspiration and I am learning new ways to work with my scraps. Thank you for all that you share with us. Your Quote of the Day and seeing what antique quilt you will show, is one of the highlights I look forward too. Today's was a wonderful reminder not to let others rain on my parade.
