Fur Babies & Quilty Friends

So many of you have asked over the past while why you haven't seen photos of Zoey and Ivy together in my posts.

I'm blaming the swap out of the old couch/chair/ottoman to the two reclining love seats that we brought up from the Wallburg house before putting it on the market.

It threw BOTH of the pets for a loop - they like routine and get confused by change, you know?  (I know a lot of people like that, too come to think of it!)

So when this finally happened last night, I grabbed the phone and took some photos.

Sorting Shades of Lola!

My sewing time yesterday - SO many triangles!

This project started with a box of gifted strips in browns and sandy neutrals - and it has sat for a year at least.  The strips that is.

The cutting started fairly recently, as in a few weeks back - but the sewing time has been delegated to other projects, so once again, this "Brown Thing" has taken a back seat waiting for its turn to arrive.

It's November.  Fall is here but good now, and as the leaves are nearly gone on all of the trees, brown is what I see in the landscape around me.  Brown.  And still a lot of green with the trucks hauling Christmas Trees, and pastures where I saw one last cut of hay being baled yesterday in preparation for winter ahead.

Colder, With a High Chance of Quilting

This is the view that greets me when I walk through the sliding glass door of my cabin studio, and step into the side yard.

There's no denying it now - winter is on the way.

And the beautiful curtain of yellows and golds is nearly gone now, giving way to mountain ranges  and sun rises.

It's a fair trade off I think!

Sew Long, October Quiltvillians!

November 1, 2021 was full of sunshine!

Just check out this gorgeous display over the porch rail from yesterday afternoon!

(Don't let this sunshine fool you, I woke up to rain hitting the metal roof this morning....)

But yesterday was just as beautiful as a November day can be in these parts.  Folks even got out for long walks along the New River - an activity that hasn't happened for me with the rolled ankle incident that is still on the mend.

I'm so glad they got out!  And by the smiles on their faces, I know they had a great time.
