The forecast showed rain for days and days...on end.
So the decision was made early on in retreat that Sunday afternoon would be our greatest over-the-porch-rail opportunity - whether quilt tops were done or not.
It was that or get wet - and/or be blown away by the possible wind.
Sometimes grey skies make for great photos - no glare, no color washout - just look at these!
The piecing on the left is from this series:
And yes, that's a beautiful Old Town on the right! I love that so many Old Town projects (and other previous mysteries) are coming together before we dive into Lupine & Laughter!
Two beauties!
The quilt on the left is called Fast Lane.
On the right is Pumpkin Trails.
A colorful one patch on the left, and County Clare on the right.
Wild & Goosey from the Addicted to Scraps book and a cute baby quilt from half-square triangles!
The strippy pinwheel quilt on the right is Jelly Roll Sizze - free downloadable PDF pattern HERE.
Fabulous quilt of valor on the left, and colorful Kaffe's on the right!
I don't have pattern sources for the gorgeous bear paw and cute spools, but the others:
Third one over is Glacial -
Last one is: About Face
And we had a few late finishes taken in yesterday's drizzle:
Fit for a police officer!
(See the rain?)
All in Alaskan Batiks!
Binding stitched by hand while on retreat!
And let's not forget the fabulous project bag class given by Gail!
Made with Quiltville Inn Fabric from Spoonflower!
And yes, they have just "Quiltville" fabric without the "Inn" part as well. So many colors!
Thanks for a marvelous week, ladies!
As for me - this is happening.
I am back to working on my X-Plus blocks - at least the kits that were already cut out.
A friend had sent me this Ruth Bader Ginsburg piece - it's been pinned to my wall and I decided to sew it on in.
"I’m proud to be a woman in the position I find myself in. I hope to encourage others to pursue dreams." ~Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
And no, the quilting machine is still giving me fits and we haven't figured out what the issue is yet. Yesterday I was able to quilt a half-row thinking we had solved the problem when the computer stopped, the machine kept stitching in place and I had to turn the whole thing off.
Breathe, Bonnie, Breathe! It still has to be something that is easily fixable. Just what it is I don't know.
The logs from the tablet have been sent off to Intelliquilter and I have faith that we will get it fixed in due time.
Introductory pricing: I've placed the Lahinch PDF pattern at 25% off - no coupon needed -through 10/31/25. There are still a few days left and save!
Sunday evening before the rain event started.
The October Quiltvillians are departing today. The November Quiltvillians arrive on Wednesday.
Sunday I fly to Portland, Oregon, head across the river to Vancouver, Washington and I get to finally hug my son!
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
I 100% agree!
Where will you find yourself losing yourself today?
Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!

I'm pulling fabric choices for the new mystery quilt! I'm heading to retreat Thurs. and quilt stores are on the agenda. Might need a color or two!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is usually the first read during breakfast. I don’t know how you manage to teach, travel, and manage the Inn, let alone your blog. I have enjoyed it for many years and hope for many more . You provide a positive attitude and inspiration plus fun. We all have our dark days but people like you certainly help. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love your energy and knowledge plus willingness to share. You are my coffee companion first thing in the morning for years. You will change but we all do and we will stick with you. The best to you and yours.
