Look what is happening in the DINING ROOM!
Have we reached the end of a season?
Almost.
Temps have been in the high 40s to low 50s in the morning hours, and it's just a bit too brisk on the back porch for brunch dining al fresco.
While I can see the progress from our Winter Blues workshops in plain view - there is also evidence of other things that have been worked on - it all adds to the happy mix of many quilty things that are happening in the Quilting Quarters!
Another shot of pink Winter Blues progress. Whooohooo!
Cathy has been working on her yummy neutrals holiday quilt -
That diagonal stripe sashing ties it all together so well!
Its a big one and going to fit her king bed -
Definietly sugar plum dreams inducing!
Once her big holiday quilt was off the design all - the space quickly filled with all of her lovely woolie projets. Adorable!
Allison finished the binding on this sweet baby quilt!
Along with the scrappy Winter Blues blocks happening on the left - some pumpkins are springing up!
Pattern is Under The Oaks by Anka's Treasures.
Barb plugging away on her Morning Glories.
Some lovely Tula flowers are bursting forth here!
Sampler blocks alongside everything -
And I had to run upstairs to bedroom 3 and take a peek and a pic of two gorgeous Winston Ways quilts from MORE Adventures With Leaders & Enders. Mother & Daughter matching quilts. So much fun!
Speedy Jen was found assembling her Winter Blues - aiming for a lap sized quilt.
She became demo girl when it came to the hints and helps of getting this top together, including the pressing and stay-stitching before trimming part.
Yesterday we jumped right in to making the pieced border:
More strip sewing - focusing on variety!
Strip set cutting!
And more cutting!
Piecing sections -
Oh, these are going to be great!
I can see it all coming together now!
The scrappier, the better!
A bit pixelated as I had to really zoom in - but someone saw me as I saw them while I was standing on the back porch. Hello!
Trust me. It's really a fun one.
Today - It's the last day for the September Quiltvillians. That means all the porch photos and the winding up of our fun week together.
This next week is actually empty - no retreats - a much needed break and you can guess what I'll be working on:
It's that time of year, after all!
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Yup. Overslept. My whole day is short-sheeted!
Oh wait.... isn't this what we're supposed to do on a holiday Monday?
Happy Labor Day, everyone!

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

Happy Labor day!! Yes, chilly here in the morning too.
ReplyDeleteAh, September where have you been,? Loving me some 🍂🍁 Autumn.
Have a great day 🌹
Blessings 🙏💞
The final quip made me literally LOL. Why can't the platforms just let us type in the year instead of scrolling through scores of decades? It's not like we have the time to spare!!
ReplyDeleteThere have been plenty of times in my quilting "career" when I've been outnumbered and outvoted by the beasts. They usually knew best. Hubby and I have been anticipating the airing of "The Thursday Murder Club" and so far it hasn't disappointed (we usually split movies into a couple of nights). I love the fact that the writers jumped right in with the assumption their audience would be smart enough to keep up without a lot of exposition at the beginning.

HA HA, love the last quote!! Have a great day and quiet next week.

ReplyDeleteMy husband also watches that movie last night while I was sewing. He loved it. Happy fall.

ReplyDeleteLove your fur babies on your lap. Jenny
Happy Labor Day! I slept in also. I have 2 Quilts to Finish and one to bind. I'll be busy all week. Quilt Show deadlines. Gotta register 2 last entries before midnight. Still hot in the PNW.
ReplyDeleteOh my, Winter Blues in so many wonderful hues! The blue plaids are wonderful! And that Triple Treat with Kaffe fabrics is definitely a winner! These ladies are so creative with your fantastic patterns! Thank you for sharing great photos of your retreats, and your own sewing projects. They always make my day!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Thursday Murder Club books, so I was a little nervous about watching the show on Netflix. But it lived up to my hopes and it was excellent. What a stellar cast!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Thursday murder club. Then I watched the Miracle club.
ReplyDeleteAnother great cast. Only on Netflix until 9/26
