All On A Thursday!

Look at this group!

April Quiltvillians have come from Florida, Oklahoma, Connecticut, North Carolina, West Virginia and beyond for a week of quiltershipping (Like fellowshipping, but hey - we are lady quilters!) and friendship building -

And in between the pedal to the metal sewing we got out yesterday for a jaunt down Bear Branch Road!
I love it when I have a group adventurous enough to leave their machines and projects for an hour or so and just get in a bit of nature and a gold old fashioned leg stretch.

Food is also plentiful -

No one goes hungry at retreat!

We need that sustenance, not only for the road hikes, but to keep us sewing late into the night.

We've got some pretty painted ladies at retreat, too!

Another lovely featherweight and a scrappy project being worked up in civil war repros.  Lovely!

Isn't this just cute?

Super springy - and can be made from a layer cake and a matching jelly roll plus background.  I'm thinking kid going off to college dorm type of quick quilt.

Being surrounded by this kind of camaraderie keeps me inspired and going!  When quilters gather, we are in great company.

The cattle are in good company too, below the back porch!

You can hear them mooing from the quilting quarters - and yes, there are young babies. So cute!

Double bloom daffies - love them!

These white/yellow ones are now blooming.,

They come up a couple weeks later than the others - but are worth waiting for.

It's not fancy - but the painting is complete on the QPO studio.

It looks so much better!

Yesterday was also momentous - the lawn got its first mow of the 2025 retreat season.  Oh, the smell of fresh mown lawn!!

It won't be long until fire pit season commences. I'm looking forward to long warm evenings dotted with lightning bugs and creek sounds.

Guess what is now DONE?

The last stitch has been taken!

Here's a bit of the backing showing what the cross-hatching looks like on the reverse side. The label hasn't been written on yet. No fabric pen at home.

I'll get some full out photos within the next couple of days to share.

Be watching for the Abbeygate PDF pattern release and gift-away to happen mid-July.

I'm still sewing border log cabin blocks....and not making a dent.  I don't know what would make a dent in this.  Every time I dig for a certain color, it just fluffs up more.  Kind of like foam insulation - once you let it out of the can - can you ever get it back in again?
I'll have fun trying!
