My love of travel keeps me inspired, seeing new places, new
things – with one common theme.
“Where are the quilty inspirations?!”
In the case of Moonflower – it is my love of photographing the geometric designs found in tile floors, tile walls, ceilings, and even woodwork.
These photos that I have saved for inspiration have been
calling me to finally “DO SOMETHING” with them.
Moonflower was inspired by a tile floor I spotted while
traipsing through small seaside towns in Ireland.
I don’t know a single quilter who would not exclaim “Look! A Quilt Design!” when walking into a restaurant, pub, church or other public space where tile designs can be found under foot..
Using the Essential Triangle Tool will have
you cutting easily from pairs of strips, saving time and increasing your
piecing accuracy.
I was able to cut all of my half-square triangles along with more squares from strips using my Essential Triangle Tool.
If you don’t have access to this ruler, you can use any method that gives you the unfinished and finished size of the unit.Simple shapes create a stunning repeat of pattern and secondary designs – All from a photo taken of a vintage tile floor in Ireland. Full color photos, Optional piecing methods, and directions to press for success!
Quilt Size: 72’’ X 72’’

And since we are headed into the holidays (And holiday sewing as well!)

If you have one started from last year - why not pull it out and get going on it again? It's the perfect time!
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Isn't it crazy how this happens?
Happy stitching, everyone!
Thank you for the chance to win the drawing. Love this quilt.
ReplyDeleteYes, November is flying by.
What will you be working on now?
I have a class on Wednesday, then the first clue comes out on Friday for next week. Blessings 🙏💞
Oh, this is gorgeous! I'm in love <3
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE this pattern! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJust purchased Moonflower, can't wait to do this one!
ReplyDeleteOh, I really like this pattern!! I hope I win the give away! I know what you mean about seeing quilt patterns in floors and other places. I often say to my husband, "oh, look! A quilt pattern!" He gets it.
ReplyDeleteI remember sending you some gray strips when you made “Punkin’ Patch” too. A good time to sew with grays. An overcast day today. Sue
ReplyDeleteOh My Gosh Bonnie!!! I am so thrilled, especially after having seen it in your studio in September!! I have more greys in my stash than I thought, and just used yellows for another project so they are top of the stack!! Moonflower is next up on the list!!!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I love your pattern, and the colors are perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago, when I was still a beginner quilter, I was at a restaurant with my aunt who was an avid quilter. I commented that the wallpaper border looked like a quilt pattern. My aunt told me that seeing quilt patterns everywhere meant that I was now a real quilter!
ReplyDeleteMoonflower is beautiful! Will be ordering when I get back from weekend away.
ReplyDeleteBonnie have you considered a downloadable pattern as a giveaway for those of us who live outside the USA I have many of your patterns that I have made and more on the to do list
ReplyDeleteYou can ALREADY enter to win the PDF pattern. It's just the fabric roll that we will not post internationally. Just enter.
DeleteMoonflower is beautiful and I love those colors together! Time Warps happen in my sewing room too! My mini iron beeps to shut off every 15 minutes and it's amazing how quickly even that short span of time happens.
ReplyDeleteOh , my heart, be still! The shades of Grey are beautiful, and the yellow just makes them pop. Bonnie how can you do that to me? I am going to try to struggle to cut the mystery quilt Come the 22nd. But this new pattern makes me want to start today, maybe I could use my Accuquilt dies to make life a little easier.
ReplyDeleteToday was the first day for physical therapy after my reverse shoulder replacement a week and a half ago. I want to win the drawing for the fabrics and the pattern but sometime my vision overpowers my reasoning, and I want to buy the pattern now, should I just say happy Thanksgiving and merry Christmas to me? LOL
Good luck on your recovery. I had the same surgery a few years ago so know it takes time and patience. You are a brave woman!
DeleteThank you, Bonnie, for another great pattern and so looking forward to the Mystery!
ReplyDeleteThat is a show stopper! But I wonder how many noticed how young and beautiful you look in that first unit photo!
ReplyDeleteI see myself making this!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of this pattern. My very favorite Mystery Quilt so far is the Grassy Creek. Love those colors also. Keep them coming.......xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove the Moon flower quilt. Did we see the original photo? I remember sending gray strips. Like neighbors sewing together in Quilting bees! Sharing fabrics. The 25th is our Anniversary i clicked to enter! Happy Fri-Yay!
ReplyDeleteLovely Quilt and love this bundle. Both are stunning. I’m happy to repost on Threads or Bluesky if requested by the followup message to any giveaway entry but never C/twitter Pam C
ReplyDeleteI'm in Canada, and Canada Post has just gone on strike. Don't worry about my entering for the pdf/fabric. I've got plenty of fabric, and with the pdf on sale at 25% off, I'll pay only 8% more (give or take) in CAD for it. LOVE that pattern! I've got lots of stash so will find my own fabrics. Thanks for the sale! P.S. I'm working on my 2nd "Easy Street" top as we speak...
ReplyDeleteMoonflower is so beautiful ! I think I will have to make it soon!
ReplyDeleteYay!! A new pattern to add to the list! :) I am in love with this one. I think grey is one of my favorite colors to do scrap quilts with! As for the quote, it's definitely true when I go down to the sewing room & work on the long arm! I can't wait to see what you come up with next... & what inspiration comes from the weekend! Happy quilting!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty pattern. I would love to make it and give it to someone who is having a hard time so that they can look at something pretty as they keep warm.
ReplyDeleteMy stack of Bonnie quilt patterns makes me think I should retire (I have 13 years to go according to my husband), hire a maid, and chef in order to make all the lovely patterns!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful pattern. I love how the block makes a secondary pattern when put together.
ReplyDeleteLove the new pattern, Moonflower! I purchased it right away!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the beautiful patterns!
