Every once in a while you have to STOP treadling and go for a 4-wheeler ride!
But do it AFTER 6pm when it is a bit cooler on those dusty dirt roads.
The areas around our waterfall and pond have been under construction – new landscaping, putting in benches, Adirondack chairs, foliage and pathways. It’s beautiful!
I haven’t seen it since they began the make over, and we didn’t get to it earlier in the week when Tonya was here, so it was time.
We headed over to pick up Rick and Mona in their side by side, and away we went up the road.
The photo you see here is our pond….they’ve also added gazebos and garden areas at the far side of the lake…BEAUTIFUL spot to sit…but bad for bugs. Even with spraying my ankles are suffering!
Let’s go!
My shirt says -- You can never have too much FABRIC!!
I so love this spot!
You can catch just bit of our conversation, there were quite a few people up at the waterfall, it’s a Buck Mountain social spot!
Beautiful, North Carolina!
I’m so happy to call this place HOME!
My haul of blocks from today!
I need two more blocks and I’m ready to lay out – hopefully I’ll have more to show you tomorrow!
Tonight….movie night in the basement with popcorn.
Looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteLooks good enough to jump in. Just beautiful and so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful area you live in --- sorry about those dang bugs. One area thing about leaving So FL, was leaving bugs upon bugs everywhere...hot steamy climate makes for great growing and nasty buggies.
ReplyDeleteGood to know you are settling in for a movies sans quilt-related duties.
Smiles, JulieinTN
Wow, are those the neutrals you just cut this morning? Those really look great in the blocks! Well they looked good in the big ol' handful you showed too!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad now that I'm not done cutting for these, I see I definitely need more variety in my neutrals! : )
Looks like a lovely relaxing place to be. Love to see what progress you have made on whatever you are working on. We are very lucky to have someone so creative share your world and projects with us. Thank you
ReplyDeletebeautiful scenery! those blocks are looking great. can't wait to see them in a quilt.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the dang bugs. My sis-in-law recently shared a recipe for bug repellant she had great success with when they vacationed at a lake. Equal parts of real vanilla (without corn syrup!), regular Listerine, and water. The mosquitoes and gnats left her alone after she spritzed herself with this mixture.
