And The Winner Is --- ((And Another Surprise Give-Away!!))

Beth Strand of Words & Stitches!

I was so excited to draw her name….and overwhelmed that there were 266 names to draw from! She’s got a lovely blog, and a great trunk show of sawtooth star quilts showing right now, so go on over and congratulate her!

((And don’t stop reading here --- there is another give-away at the bottom of this post!))

It was a lot of fun reading all the entries, some great ideas there. I hope you took some time on the ORIGINAL GIVEAWAY post to read through them!

Here was Beth’s comment:

I'd like to piece "Yellow Fish Rule!" into a quilt for my daughter. When she was little and having trouble fitting in, I used the analogy about school being like a fish tank and when most fish are red or green, it's hard to stand out as the only yellow fish. But as time went on, she would get into bigger tanks...middle school, high school, college, life....and there would be more fish of her color. I've got a quilt started with the fish, but I really need help with the letters! The other thing I want to do is make a quilt with an applique depicting my daughter as a girl scout and sew on all her badges (some that I never got done.) The border of the quilt will say, "Finally, my mom sewed ALL my badges!"
Thanks,
Beth

I can sure relate to this post, can’t you? By the time I was in 7th grade, I was 5’8”. I was skinny and gawky with braces and glasses, I embodied the word AWKWARD to a TEE! I was a very tall yellow fish in a sea of red and green fishes. I finally quit growing at 5'9".

Beth, Word Play Quilts will be coming your way as soon as I hear from you and get your snail mail address! I’m excited to see your quilt come together, and I hope you will post your progress on your blog!

I also want to say, that I am just doing the MAILING -- The book was given to me for this Give-Away by Tonya Ricucci herself, and she has autographed it -- so she is really the one you need to thank for it!

I’ve enjoyed the give-aways so much that I think we will be doing more of them. For Instance – When ordering cases and cases of books, I occasionally get ones like this:

mailday 006

These two copies of Scraps & Shirttails II somehow got crimped in the cutting machine and there is a bit of damage to the back covers. The warehouse is sending me replacements, but what to do with other-wise-perfectly-good books like this?!

If YOU don’t mind a free book with a bit of damage to a back cover, leave me a comment here and we will draw for it TOMORROW and it will mail Monday! I’m going to give ONE away in this drawing --- And save the second one for a bit down the road. Ready, Get Set --- Comment me with what you will be sewing on for Super-Bowl-Sunday-Weekend!

As for me, I plan to spend the entire weekend in the basement re-bonding with my machine! Rolling on the floor laughing

  2. I'll be stitching a plaid bargello (half done!!!!) with light shirtings. I'm already saving dark shirtings for a dark one. I've been making shirt quilts for about 12 years now and am truly addicted.

  3. First of all; Congrats on your new book! I would love to enter your Give away, and it's what is inside that counts, right? :o)
Hope you are having a great weekend, and get some rest before you continue your "office-work" :o)

  8. Oh sweetness!! I will be watching the game while working on my hexagon quilt. This allows me to "be quiet" during the game, and still stitch and see the whole game. I'm sure you all with DHs know what I mean.

  9. No I don't mind if the outside is not perfect, it's the inside that counts.

  10. I would love this book, damage and all. Super Bowl Sunday? hmm...in between dodging my son's football, I'll be working on Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll, I have just a few more blocks to make and then I'll put them on the design wall and stitch them together. Can't wait to see it completed! Claire M.

  12. Nice! :) I will be working on homemade pay it forward items for my Facebook 5. The first one is a lap quilt that I made the 1/2 triangle things the way you showed on your site - and believe it or not they actually match up! LOL I am amazed! Anyways... no kids at home this weekend for me, but will go spoil the grandkids tonight for a bit :) Happy Sewing!

  13. Hey, crumpled is OK.....didn't we always hear that one shouldn't judge a book by its cover. LOL

  14. Nothing wrong with a little damage—it's all about the interior content.

This weekend, I'm taking a break from quilting for some sartorial stitching… a vest commission and a flamenco skirt for a workshop I’m taking. Back to quilting next week though!

  15. I would love this book!!!! It's my birthday next week and it would be the most perfect present (and I am gonna be ordering it for my birthday if I don't win, LOL. I am going to bind my snowflake top, and quilt/bind a few others.....and keep on stitching those 600 plus red and white half squares for Roll, Roll Cotton Boll! Thanks for the give a way Bonnie!

  16. Dear Bonnie,
I would love to give your "awkward" book a good home. Tomorrow I will work on my hand pieced spool blocks, or the sock that I have on the needles, and of course cheer on the Green Bay Packers.(Wisconsin native) I admit to loving football, hockey, and college basketball. I get alot of handwork done at the same time!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi Bonnie,
We don't have a super bowl weekend and I don't like soccer but I do sew, or knit, or quilt, or add more hexagons to one of the quilts I'm working on.
I do not mind getting a book thats a bit damaged as long as you put your autograph in it.

  18. Because there is a "Pillow Talk" thing going on w/ a lot of blogs this month, it has inspired me to finish some of the pillows that I intended to have done for Christmas. I'm not sure what will get DONE, but here's my list.

    1) Peanut Butter and Jelly Pillow -- Peanut butter for Veronica

    2) Peanut Butter and Jelly Pillow -- Jelly for Heidi (V's little sister)

3)Paper airplane pillow for BIL Peter (the Aero-astro engineer)

    4) Fleece panel pillows for H & V

    5) "Christmas" pillows -- Peter, Melanie, Mark -- made from leftover blocks of quilts that their Mom made (she passed away in 2000, so we have no idea how old the blocks are, or what their intended use was)

  19. I've already started my SuperBowl weekend sewing. I'm continuing my "My Blue Heaven" quilt this morning. I'm down the to the last HST/FG/HST triplets and once those are done and attached to the blocks I'll be ready to assemble the top. I also dug out a BOM project that is 75% done. I haven't worked on it in so long it almost feels like I'm starting something new!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I will continue to piece together the blocks for my youngest granddaughter's "big girl quilt". It's a controlled scrappy log cabin variation ... I think it's going to be beautiful when I'm done!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would love to give a home to your "damaged" book!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'll be cutting out a quilt for my niece's wedding gift. I sure don't mind a bit of damage on the back - my favorite books all have significant "wear"!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'll be working on a guild challenge quilt...know of any blocks with 11 pieces? I've come up with two options but not crazy about either one.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I would love to win such a book. I read your blog everyday. You are ONE busy lady. Cheers from Nova Scotia!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Still working on Roll Roll Cotton Boll. I'd like to get all the little pieces into bigger pieces before I have to pack the machine away for our party tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love books and a little crumpled-ness wouldn't bother me one little bit!

I will be working on the pink-and-white double four patch quilt this weekend. My goal is to get all the blocks sewn into rows, sew the rows together, and put on the first two inner borders. I will be a busy girl...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm totally out of touch with super bowl Sunday - although I remember it being a big deal when I was growing up. Here in Oz the big football game (a.k.a. The Grand Final) is played at the end of September. So I'm not sure which Sunday we are talking about, but my project at the moment is to work on putting the final borders on some UFO's. It will depend how hot it is which one I choose. The blue one is looking promising as I've already cut some strips. And I certainly don't mind a damaged book... the words on the inside are the same...

This weekend I will be getting the borders on RRCB and a few more scrappy curved log cabin blocks for another scrappy quilt I am working on. My OCD must be lessening because I could never do scrappy before but I am really enjoying doing these.

  29. I think I'll be working on a postage stamp quilt that's "never" going to get done. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Although it's not SuperBowl Sunday in France (LOL), I'll be frantically sewing away trying to meet my goal of 9 quilts for Quilts 4 Leukaemia by the middle of March. Have I bitten off more than I can chew I ask myself?

Woohoo for WordPlay Quilts! Would love to receive the 2nd volume of Scraps & Shirttails and the condition doesn't matter one tiddily squat!

  34. Awww, poor books! I am sure they will be loved wherever they go, despite the damage. I know I wouldn't mind.

This weekend, I'm making another banner with my Steelers fabric, and working on the lighthouse for my sailboat quilt.

  38. What's wrong with a couple of wrinkles? :) As long as you can still read the instructions they will work! I'd love to have one of these for my stash. I don't own any of your books, so this one would be a great one to have!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  41. I am basting a quilt this Super Bowl weekend - a reproduction of an Amish doll quilt - and hopefully, finishing up the blocks for a dear friend's wedding quilt - sawtooth stars.

I don't mind a little wear and tear. Making do is a quilter's motto, right? :)

  43. Sewing on Superbowl... will have to be handwork as each year good friends invite us to their superbowl party. It is loud, fun and full of food. You never know who is going to be their. They are very random and invite people that they "feel" lead to invite. So I am sewing today so that I can take things to bind.

  45. I wouldn't mind one bit, as long as I can read the inside. Comfort foods on the menu for tomorrow - beans & cornbread, and a binding to sew down during the game. It's just the two of us, so should be able to "git er done".
    Thanks, Bonnie!

  78. I just finished my brother & sil's Christmas present, so Super Bowl Sunday will consist of me doing anything to keep my mind busy while hoping my mom can get out of snow-laden New England!!

I will sew on a UFO I started years ago that I have called 'Fruit Salad' It is a log cabin quilt done up where the blocks look like slices of watermelon, and the border is a farmer's market fruit & veggie stand print and then a red & white 'pic-i-nik' blanket print. I figure this cold snap deserves something summery to cheer us all up!

  83. I wouldn't mind a book with a little damage to it's back; it's what's inside that counts. Learned that lesson well when I was 13 and diagnosed with scoliosis (my own "damaged back"); it didn't change what was inside me. Maybe it did: I'm stronger because of it, inside and out!

This will be our first trip since DH had a mild stroke on Dec 8th. More of a test run than anything else. Working on the RRCB quilt really helped get me through some tough times.

Thanks for the giveaway!

  100. Thanks for a chance to win. My friend and I are ordering our copies together this weekend. Today I'll be machine quilting some small quilts for a friend, and I have several projects all ready to have the binding sewn by hand to do during the big game. I'm not a big football fan, but like to watch the Super Bowl for the commercials and all the other hoopla. I always pick a team to root for to make it more interesting. Usually my criteria is the cutest quarterback, but I'm not particularly drawn to either one this time, so I'm going to have to find a new way to pick. Maybe Green Bay since their colors would make a colorful quilt!

  101. Mom always taught me not to judge a book by the cover...I'm in. Thanks so much.

  102. I'd love to own one of your books. I don't care if it's bent, dirty, whatever, as long as I can see the pictures and the directions. Thanks for the giveaway.
I'll be working on "Double Delight". I started it a long time ago and got the blocks made and then had to put it away in order to make a toddler quilt and then a wedding quilt. Then no time to sew or quilt due to babysitting granddaughters, traveling to Colorado for wedding, etc. I got the blocks sewn into rows earlier this week and have half the rows sewn together. I hope to finish the inside and start on the borders. Thank you for such wonderful patterns. It is turning out really nice. I have to decide if I want a plain or a pieced border. Decisions, decisions!

She will sew the Smokey Mountain Star Quilt from you. I must make the translating and I must change the size from inch to cm. I think she will like it very much. 106. I'd love to win this book! I have both your other books but haven't gotten around to ordering this one yet. If I don't win, I'll order it! I love doing leaders and enders - I have enough nine-patches for at least two quilts now - just need to get them put together!

  107. I'd love a chance to win your book! I'll be working on a baby quilt this weekend for someone at work.

  109. Bonnie, you must be the busiest woman I know. I read your blog posts and can't believe all you get done. Do you ever sleep?

I wouldn't mind a slightly beat-up copy of your book at all. After all, it's the contents that counts, not that little rip in the cover.

I will be in my basement, quilting a customer quilt that I have put off for way too long, on Super Bowl Sunday. It has a much thicker batting than I would choose, so hope it goes well.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I would love it even with its imperfections. I am far from a perfectionist except when it comes to boudin, cracklin,& king cake. Those have to be perfect and I know exactly where to get all three.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I have 1080 light and 1080 dark scrappy pieces cut for a pioneer braid, so, if I can get out to get some red (or, possibly hot pink???) solid, I'm wanting to start a pioneer braid. Thank you for the chance to win. I hope I do, I enjoy your other books so VERY MUCH, and would love to own this one also, just can afford it now.

  112. I'd love to win this book. I am working on binding a UFO, making a violet purse for a monochromatic challenge, and basting a baby quilt.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I wouldn't mind an imperfect copy. I love your ideas of using all the small pieces. I'd love to give that a try but I need direction!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Having damage to the outside of the book never bothered me. . . it is the pages on the inside that count.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I really hate to admit it, but I will be "fixing" my Old Tobacco Road. Sadly it was a UFO and I pulled it out late last year to finish. I decided to make it smaller so have it trimmed. Borders are what always stump me, but many of the pictures show black, so I will do black and then use the extra 4 patches and pinwheels in the next border. It will be a beauty!

I can't lie...I will be actually sewing in the am on my RRCB, which is my first "Bonnie" quilt and will certainly not be my last...and in the afternoon I will be watching the Super Bowl ( I love football)...Thanks, Bonnie for RRCB it has been so much fun. I have so enjoyed being part of a large group, reading their posts and seeing their pictures.
I would like the book to see what else I can make with your system.

  118. I'll be working on a hexagon quilt when I feel compelled to watch the game (opening and half-time!) but putting together my first Leaders and Enders quilt blocks when I can sneak away to the sewing machine! I've become a Leaders and Enders groupie! I'd love to win your new book, and start cutting up shirts! Thanks for your inspiration!

  119. Could you say these two copies are the printing company's "humility" books? ;D

Superbowl Sunday - A leader/ender project has jumped to the forefront, ala Nancy Near Philly. The final 5 blocks will be finished, and the top pieced (fingers crossed here!)

Thanks for the opportunity to win one of the books!

  120. You're right...a little damage is nothing to sweat over. I need to finish a binding then get back to work on a challenge quilt.

A book from you, priceless!! I will be sewing on a quilt with Mark Lipinski's Califon line. My nephew was the winner this Christmas of a family drawing I have every year and only those who don't have one of my quilts are eligble. The winner can usually find fabric in my stash for thier quilt. My nephew saw the Lipinski fabric and said "Wow, Dodger blue" So a quilt is born and finished on SuperBowl Sunday. YEA

  122. I have never judged a book by it's cover. On Sunday, I may not be able to domuch quilting because my husband is not a football fan! Probably one of a very few men in America. If I do, I will be sewing triangles for our Guild mystery quilt. I'll be taking a class from you in Pigeon Forge and can't wait for the class (Cathedral Windows). Jo Anne

  123. Very nice!
I will be sewing on my purple challenge quilt. Im ready!!

    ReplyDelete
  124. A little damage to a back cover is nothing...all the pictures and instruction in the book are what counts! After having 22 people in my house for a birthday lunch with my family for my son turning 3 that day... I'll be pulling off the papers to some quilt show ribbon awards that night after the kids are in bed. They are paper pieced sugar house blocks - our guild logo.... I have 8 to do so far and hope to get the last few stitched up today.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Oh my, I would love one of your books! I will attending the Super Bowl Sunday Sale at my LQS, then sewing on my "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" quilt. I'm going to make another scrappy Trip Around the World after I finish the dogs:)

    ReplyDelete
  126. I am going to be working on a top secret project that can't be revealed until after I give it away on my trip to Cincinnati in April. If I am picked to receive the book I will be giving it away to a friend as I have already purchased a copy for myself. It is always good to introduce friends to scrap quilting.

  127. Wow!! Congrats on the NEW book!! I would love to win a copy!! thanks for throwing my name into your give away hat!! Take care!

  128. This book would fit right in with your first book here, as I have been drooling all over the great patterns and wearing the pages thin from turning them!! You are the best, Bonnie!

  132. I started two full size bed quilts for my twin nieces this summer. I was very distracted by Roll, Roll Cotton Boll! It's time to get back to the twins quilts, so that is what I will be working on!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Taking a chance here. I would love your book. The good stuff is on the inside anyway! I'm just sayin..... Congrats on your new book, too!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Getting a "dented" book is like buying a "dented" car - I don't have to worry about being the one to make the first "dent"! This weekend I'm working on my Kaffee Texas Braid - I have behaved all week and worked on samples for the quilt shop.....but I did make my matchsticks as my leaders and enders......(muah-ha-ha!!!!)

    ReplyDelete
  135. Hi Bonnie, thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of your new book. I so much enjoyed finally meeting you recently at the Quilters' Guild Acadienne meeting. Especially since I have been following your blog for about 9 years now. As far as the sewing on Superbowl Sunday, I will probably quilting a gift quilt for my nephew who is graduating in May. Terry

    ReplyDelete
  136. I don't mind a wrinkle or two on the book!

We're going to the in-laws for the Super Bowl. I'm going to hand-finish the binding on a very pale light blue & white queen size that's a gift. MIL's house is MUCH cleaner than mine, so hopefully the quilt won't get as dirty if I work on it there. :)

BTW, Bonnie, I've spent way too much time this week taking apart my first (towering) stack of thrift store shirts. Your books should come with warning labels, because this is addictive! :) I have some ideas for fun ways to use the 'throw-away' parts like button plackets.

  139. Wow! Another chance to win a great book! Sign me up. I don't mind a little blemish on the cover. I didn't enter for Tonya's book because I already bought a copy and have made some letters. Awesome book! I'm working on a little project for my guild's annual challenge this weekend and I've been thinking about making a few pillows too. Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Unfortunately, I won't be sewing this weekend as I am hosting a scrapbooking crop. (I might sneak a few minutes in with some handsewing though). I would love a copy of your book, damaged or not!

    ReplyDelete
  141. So just like your "irregular" book and the yellow fish... it is what's on the inside that counts! Such a painful thing to try a teach a child that is not like everyone else.....then finally when they grown up they "get it".
thanks so much for the chance to win Bonnie.

I'll be sewing away this weekend...working on my RRCB x2 and my new assignment for Quiltmaker mag. Scrap Squad :0)..........
too bad we aren't doing a superbowl sew along this year....:0)......maybe next year.

Happy sewing, enjoy your weekend at home !

  142. free book? woohooooo! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

    ReplyDelete
  143. When I look in the mirror I see quite a bit of wear and tear, so I don't think a little damage on the back of a book would bother me. I have some shirts disassembled, so I might start something with them over the weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Well, I might work on "Sweet Menagerie", a Moda Bakeshop quilt, but as I've just learned to knit, I may make another scarf! No, knitting is not the new quilting.
Oh, and the imperfect book? It could be a collector's item some day! And it's waht's inside that counts.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I have two UFOs to work on. Both are cut and in progress of being sewn.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Sewing on anything is better than having to watch (and listen!) to my hubby watching superbowl and hockey and...whatever other sport might be on!
I am working on 2 (well realistically many more but I'm only admitting to 2 here!), one is a hockey quilt for my son and the other is a colour study from a workshop last weekend.
I love your blog...and one of these days I am going to get your books, maybe sooner than later?!?!? (hopeful, pitiful!lol)

    ReplyDelete
  147. With 2 little girls (3 and 1) I probably won't be sewing anything tomorrow. BUT if I do get to sew for a bit I am currently working on a new dress for my 3 year old. :)

    ReplyDelete
  148. You've taught us that there is beauty to discover in others's cast-offs. This book, though a little worse for the wear, holds much potential beauty inside. I would love to take your crumpled book!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Hello Bonnie, I will be sewing an historical 1860's gown, complete with the bloomers. Every year is our little town, we celebrate finding a HUGE gold nugget. We have a parade and we crown a lucky high school junior, our Gold Nugget Queen.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I simply can't wait to see the new book! It would be amazing to win it! Tomorrow is my husband's birthday so we'll probably be doing whatever HE wants to do. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  151. If I was to win your book I would give it to my dauther-in-law who is a new quilter. I have one ordered but would love to share you & your fabulous quilts with her too. I wlll be finishing my RRCB mystery quilt during Super Bowl. Thanks for the giveaway. A little inperfection on a book doesn't stop a quilter.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I have made a couple quilts from leftovers as I am very frugal. I would absolutely love to win this book!

    ReplyDelete
  153. That's not damage...that's "character" Just like our quilts right? Don't waste anything. I'm set for a one-day mystery tomorrow. All from stash!

    ReplyDelete
  154. A little wear and tear won't make the book any less wonderful. Count me in. I've got a Strp Twist and another quilt all pin basted and ready for quilting. that a what I'll be doing on SBS.

  158. I would LOVE this book, a little wear and tear just give it character and we certainly don't want to hurt its feelings. Lets see for superbowl sunday I am going to be working on scrappy paper pieced ski boots and keep wishing we could have a wee bit of the snow that you all have back east.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I will be finishing up two small baby quilts (a twofer) for a beginning quilting class I will be teaching in the next few weeks. I will introduce the class to your technique of leaders and enders which I have found that once started it's hard to sew off without something else to sew onto, and the bonus you get when you do so. Thanks Bonnie for this technique, your website and blog.

This weekend will be spent finishing up a baby quilt and hand quilting another quilt.

    Have a GREAT weekend!!

  161. Your misfortune is our fortune found, thank you for the giveaways.
My sewing plans for super bowl weekend is a trifecta. Pillow cases for 2 of our granddaughters, Civil War blocks along with some Cheddar and Grits blocks with my small online group. Have fabric to cut, and blocks to make. Busy work week ahead.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I'll be working on my Feb UFO challenge -- so far it's just a bunch of 9-patches from an on-line swap years ago. I'll be watching the game too!

    ReplyDelete
  163. I'll be putting the rest of the 1/2 square triangle strips onto the sides of my RRCB! I got a late start on the mystery, but am plugging away on it! And as for damaged back covers....so many of my books have that 'beaten up' look....it's how I can tell I really liked and used the book!

Thanks for having another giveway! We love that!

    ReplyDelete
  164. I hope I win the book. Damage is only to the cover, not the part that counts! For Super Bowl Sunday I will be quilting my Judy L UFO #10. Then my quilting pal and I are going to watch Black Swan.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I have been so often inspired by the quilts on your site and your blog, I'd love to win a (slightly damaged) copy of your book.

I realized recently that when I begin a new quilt project, I almost always start with my scraps. Scrap quilts were my first love and, as I have grown as a quilter over the years and tried many things, that love for scrap quilts has endured.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Having a copy of your new book would be so nice! I make a lot of prayer quilts for my church and my scrap bin runneth over at the moment. While the football game is on I will be rummaging through the scraps to see what to make next! -- Christy

  167. I certainly don't mind a less than perfect book! I doubt I will be sewing as we will hopefully be traveling home from visiting grandkids if we can get there with the snow/ice.

    ReplyDelete
  168. No sewing this weekend, but IF I had time, I would work on my son's quilt, "Swing Your Partner" from your first book. I am LOVING how this is turning out and I am almost through piecing the blocks. LOVE LOVE LOVE your 1st book and would really enjoy having this new one!

  169. Count me in the drawing. I'll be sewing on a donation quilt using your bricks and stepping stones pattern. Got it all cut out so I'm ready to put the pedal to the metal.

  170. If it has your name in it, I would love to own it! The mail could bend and tear one just as easliy. I guess that is why you bubble bag them.

  171. I would love to get a copy of your book, even with a little damage. All of your great knowledge is still there, right? Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete

  175. I am working on hand applique-ing down some dresden plate blocks made from my batik scraps. Someday they will be a table runner.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Congrats on the new book! Can't wait to see it. My sewing plans for the weekend are to finish up a Christmas quilt. Me and my neighbors had a sewing night last night and I finished up the blocks. Now I just have to sew them into columns (Weird layout!) and then sew it all together.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  177. I would love to have a copy of your book--even bent. lol

I'm not sure what I'll do for super bowl Sunday. I might hand quilt while watching TV or I may sew on a double wedding ring quilt, or my "Tree Times" quilt or . . . .

    ReplyDelete
  178. I will be finishing a challenge quilt for an exhibition here http://www.caerphilly.gov.uk/llancaiachfawr/ in April. We all have different Quilter's Quips to use - mine is "My soul is fed by needle and thread but my body is fed with chocolate!"

Will spend Super Bowl day as a "family Sunday" with my daughter and her family.

  182. I would love to win the new book. I've really enjoyed your first two books and look forward to this next one. I'll probably be sewing on something Valentiney to send to my college daughter next week.

  183. I would love to win a copy of your book. I'll be working on my UFO challenge for February (yikes its' such a short month!) and as soon as that is finished, back to RRCB.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Congratulations Beth!

If your book doesn't mind belonging to a quilter who can't sew a straight seam I don't mind owning a damaged book. Love your patterns, I'm currently working on Jared Takes a Wife and would be thrilled to win your book.

  185. I'll be sewing a border on an old attic windows quilt top. The fabrics are scraps from my grandma, and my daughter (now 27) picked out each scrap to put in this quilt when she was 5. 188. What's a crimped back cover compared to the wonders inside?? Thanks for being so generous.

    ReplyDelete
  189. A book in my possession would soon have crimps anyway, so I don't mind at all! I will be working on two quilts for Project Linus this weekend. What is the Super Bowl anyway? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  190. This weekend I'm going to be putting the borders on my RRCB quilt and then finding backing for it so I can send it to the longarm quilter. The winner of your book could take it to a print shop and have a spiral binding put in it. I do that to a lot of the books I buy. They lay flat and are much easier to work with. I've got a book on order so don't need to win one but if I did, I'd donate it to my guild. Thanks for the great blog and all the free patterns. Love your work!

    ReplyDelete
  191. I think your book would love living with my library. They will take really god care of it and keep it company. I was at your lecture at Canyon Quilter's in Jan. and loved your idea of Leaders and Enders....what a great idea you came up with. A second quilt without even even trying!!
