I had the best view on Saturday morning.
After the debacle with the van and the stuck-in-a-hole rear tire, and making Casden a ham and cheese omlet because "Please, BoNana?" has me bending over backwards -
Casden and I rode over to the inn in the van, while Jeff came in his pickup to start in on mowing the lawn.
That meant that Casden got to come say hello to "The Ladies" who of course offered him a full plate of brunch goodies including pancakes, fruit, banana bread and more -
After feeding Tula and Flash we settled into the QPO studio to watch a movie and he immediately asked for popcorn!!
But that was AFTER he chose a quilt to snuggle in my big recliner with -
What's a BoNana to do?
I said we'd hold off on the popcorn for a bit, just to give the pancakes a chance to fill his hollow legs because evidently he had them.
We have officially reached bottomless pit status with my growing 4th grader!
And wile he zoned out to whatever cartoon movie was on, I got some big blocks sewn together.
They stayed until the lawn was done, it was getting hot - and they headed back home around 12:30 - with popcorn in hand for the drive home.
I love this little munchin so much!
Especially after he said "Don't worry, BoNana - I'll take care of you when you are too old."
Okay, Buddy - that works for me, even if it is a long ways off yet.
Mean while next door - the makers are making!
The modern blocks on the wall are growing in number!
They are coming from this book.
Top finish or a Godson going off to college -
Pattern is Laying Tracks.
Cute, cute cute!
Some very intense machine applique happening here!
On Wander Lane by Schoolhouse Haven.
Tree-mendous is in rows!
Pattern source.
Arrancing squares on fusible - what is this?
Pretty Sunflower wallhanging!
Well, that didn't take long at all!
Red white & blue sampler beginnings -
And of course there was time for a raucous game of saran wrap ball!
Never a dull moment, and loads of fun!
Saturday evening down by the river with friends - It was nice to catch just a bit of a slow down -
One more motif is in the done column.
They take me 3 to 4 evenings of feet up TV watching time to make one - so it's slow going but I'll get there eventurally.
We are really enjoying Sullivan's Crossing and Ransom Canyon right now. What are you currently binging?
For my own guilty pleasures - I watched Outrageous on Britbox. Fabulous. Highly recommend. 100 stars.
This morning on the porch with Ivy in my lap. She doesn't stay long, but she purrs for the pets she gets when she allows you to give them.
Guess what's up for today?
I got a text from Costco that my glasses are ready. YAY!
I'm headed to the inn to do some Monday morning things, and then I'll jet over there, pick them up and hustle back for over-the-porch-rail photos this afternoon.
It's going to be a full road trip day - but I'm so excited that it took only a week to get them made.
How was your own weekend?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
A new study? I thought this was an old study!
For a 40 plus years I've been living off the notion that "She who dies with the most fabric wins!"
And now I have to remain immortal with it all?
Quilting is my super power.
And yours too, I am guessing!
Happy Monday, folks -

Casden enjoyed his time with you how precious.
ReplyDeleteLots of pretties being made there...
WOW, a week and your glasses are ready!! Awesome!
I watched Football and cooked on Saturday and Sunday...
I have your Chicken Corn Chowder in my crock pot cooking right now, thank you for the recipe.
Safe travels to get your glasses .
Have a wonderful day 🌹
Blessings 🙏💞
My weekend was spent sorting through scrap bins and cutting circles for making a Yo-Yo quilt. I cut 170 circles, need 2304!
ReplyDeleteShe who dies with the most fabric…didn’t sew fast enough!🤣 That’s the latest I heard! Either way, we will be sewing as much as possible, as fast as possible for as long as we can! 💜
ReplyDeleteMy super power is Piecing blocks. I need more Quilting time in my life. Still recovering from my Vacation Sunburn. Quilt Guild day so Quilting has to wait. I'm loving the hexie Motifs you are slow stitching. I took Hexies on our shrt trip but playing games with the Grands took over. Casden is so cute cuddle up in your chair. Bo Nana is the perfect grandma name. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! Grandbabe, kitty, and oh so many fun quilts! Here is to a new week, and I just adore that plaid quilt that Casden is snuggling with!
ReplyDeleteWhat is that quilt that your grandson is cuddling under?
ReplyDeleteI wondered too. Bonnie called it Open Window, I think. - Sue
DeleteWondering what pattern Camden is snuggled under! Sue
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, thanks for sharing your weekend with us. Your grandson is a doll. To bad he has entered the hollow leg syndrome so early. I remember my boys could graze all day at his age. When they got to high school you could not keep them full. Thank you again for showing the patterns for reference when you show the works in progress. I love seeing what everyone is making. Glad your glasses are ready. I am off to do errands this morning. Hope you have a great day. Brenda Jackson
ReplyDeleteI watched Sullivan’s Crossing when it was on network TV, The CW channel. Great show. A new season is coming.
ReplyDeleteI just binged The Empress on Netflix, great historical drama.
I also enjoyed Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu with Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.
Summer is a good time to watch the streaming shows before the new network shows start in the fall. Sue
Some little boy has his Nana wrapped around his little finger which is the way it should be . Me two grandsons are in their twenties so its been a long time since they were Casden's age and I miss it so much. Even though I see them often it's not the same when they become adults. Have fun and enjoy him as he will be grown in no time.
ReplyDeleteI am currently working on a strip quilt for my queen size bed. The squares are 4.5" finished and I figured out that I need 357 of them.
ReplyDeleteI will be working on them until my friend, with whom I quilt/sew every Thursday, gets back from Maine.
We are currently working on Jacob's Ladder. Mine will be scrappy blues. Now I am headed to the beautishop to get my hair done. I loved all the quilt you posted.
Today's quilt pictures are awesome, thank you for taking the time to post them, Bonnie. Have a great day, glad you are getting your new glasses!
ReplyDeleteAwe... grandson time, especially when it sounds like it was unplanned, is the best! I evidently have fall on the brain as I have a throw in my favorite football team fabrics done and I am working on a Halloween tablerunner, but it might turn into a wall hanger. Who knows?! Getting ready to head back to work for the week, and it's HOT!! I so can not WAIT for it to cool down!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your new glasses. Hope things settle down for a bit! Happy stitching!
I love reading your blog! Have you watched Code of Silence on Britt Box? it's great!
