The mountains are lost in a bank of early spring fog.
Not even a whisper of breeze is stirring the trees.
It’s a quiet, beautiful morning on the mountain, perfect for reflection, letting go, renewing.
Easter is quiet this year, just three of us as Jason has to work tomorrow, making it difficult to drive up to the cabin for just part of a day.
We are enjoying spending time together on the mountain.
We’ve talked, we’ve laughed, we’ve enjoyed movies and good food!
Isn’t that the best part of being together as a family on any day, why do we save this just for holidays?
Last night’s sunset.
The sun goes down behind the ridge to the west of us. I’m counting down these viewable sunsets – pretty soon those leaves will all fill in! My April is BUSY, so this very well could be the last time we see this ridge until Fall.
Eeep! Sheep!
There has been a bit of sewing – the guys went out to do some target practice, and I stayed behind to sew. Love this non-fussy-cutting accident!
This also made me laugh!
Hello, Crabby!
We are stepping away from the normal Easter dinner since there are only 3 of us.
I am planning on pork chops on the grill, salad, corn bread and scalloped potatoes. Brownies with ice cream for dessert. it feels great to be playing it low key.
However you spend your Easter, cherish your loved ones, make some memories! Life is too short not to have that brownie!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Vintage basket quilt circa 1940.
Blessings of Easter to you and your family, Bonnie. We are also having a "low keyed" day and loving it. Life just seems to accelerate too often; it's nice and important to step out of the fray and enjoy one of the really important things in life ... family. Linda H

Happy Easter Bonnie. There's something to be said for simplifying holiday meals. We are grilling in Mundelein, IL today. Gone is the stress of planning a large meal for 20 people.
ReplyDeleteMexican food is the fare for the day. Arrachera with tortillas and all the fixins. The men are at the grill, while the women bake, and prepare the rest. Then we have the Easter egg hunt and watch the grandchildren dig thru their treasures.
Have a blessed day,
Jonnie
Beautiful View from your Mountain! Have a Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you and your family, too, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteThe menu sounds lovely!( Which sort of cornbread are you making?)
I am busy with my first Bonnie Hunter quilt which is the beautiful "Allietare"!!
It will be the "pocket-edition" as I am doing half of the blocks as you suggested in the introduction.
Best wishes!
Happy Easter to you and your family! Bonnie.
