Memorial Day 2022

I've been enjoying my long Memorial Day weekend with this wonderful group of quilters!

I'm so happy this has worked out the way that it did.

I've got a full house of quilters, bakers and more - and the creativity and laughter is ever flowing.

Not only that, the weather has finally cooperated to give us a gorgeous weekend to enjoy the out of doors as well as inside.

This is how I'm saying "Hello!" to summer, with the Quilters of the Night!

I haven't had a group of all male quilters yet, but the three in this group have added an element that turns the fun up a notch.

Quilting is not just for women, you know!

This group contains spouses, brothers and sisters and friends.  It's the perfect mix of all that is good in the quilting world - where quilting is the thread that binds.

Last night was our first fire pit of the season!

And YES - there were s'mores all around.

It's the taste of summer, and brings us right back to our respective childhoods.

Playing with the "night" setting on my camera -

The laughter with this group never stops!

The inn, after a good mowing.

It was finally dry enough to not clog the mower.

As this is Memorial Day, my plans are to hopefully FINALLY squeeze in a hike with whomever wants to tag along.

There will definitely be porch time.

It's the last day for the Quilters of the Night - they will be heading home to Ohio and beyond tomorrow, and housekeeper Susan and I will be flipping the house and getting it ready for the June Quiltvillians who are arriving on Wednesday.

Visit my post and get your entry in to win a copy of her new book.  Find who the next stop on the blog tour is and visit them.  Enter on each site on their day - there are 12 stops all sharing their projects and hosting gift-aways this week.  Good luck!

We'll be drawing for our winner here on Wednesday 6/1/22.

I've also added Tantalizing Table Toppers to the Quilting All the Time category of the Quiltville Amazon Affiliate Store. I know how we all love our Amazon Prime where possible!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

May we always remember and never forget those who gave their lives for the freedoms we share and take for granted each and every day..
They are never forgotten as long as those of us still here remember.

Happy Memorial Day!

Still rainy in the PNW. How fun to have family retreating at the Quiltville Inn. Seeing the bread makes me want to turn on the oven. It is cold in my house. Flying Flags to remember those who gave their All!

Here in SE Michigan the weather has been fantastic and maybe some hope that summer is really here! I have out my patriotic quilts this week and hope to finish another by July 4 (Unity!). Remembering those who sacrificed for us.
