Last Minute Stitches!

Sew Long, Farewell -

And would you check out that green green grass?  It's BACK!

This makes me so happy.  Now if only the trees would get leaves.

And....stop raining?

It poured all day yesterday and through the night.

I guess that means we are still in the season of mud.

But just look at these beautiful quilts!

Check out the rainbow of color!

Beautiful double wedding ring - and a newly bound Crooked Courthouse from the Free Patterns tab! I have half a mind to make another - they are so fun and stress free to do.

Here the last binding stitches were going in!

Back to the group photo above - the Crooked Courthouse is followed by Pam's Spider & The Fly that is "ALMOST" at top.

Close up of blocks on the design wall.  This is going to be such a fun quilt when it is done.

That said - has anyone made it in other colors? I'd love to see it as a non-Halloween quilt.

Marnie is holding her finished Cat in the Flowers stitchery top - she started it while we were in Vietnam together last May, and now it's a top!  SO CUTE!

And finally - a gorgeous Tumblers Leader & Ender quilt from the Free Patterns tab.  So super scrappy and gorgeous!

Sports team throw that any sports fan would love to cuddle with - Jared Takes a Wife from the Free Patterns tab in lovely spring colors. Fair and Sqare from String Fling, newly bound and perfectly perfect! And Indigo Way in lilac and green.  So pretty!

Lovely Square in a Square in yellows and and blue and white beauty called Talavera Azul designed by Irene Hafer for Cotton To Quilts.  PDF download HERE.

Full quilt, unfolded!

And there were some last minute things that didn't make it over the porch rail - isn't this little village wonderful?

BEES!

Random Ohio Stars from the Free Patterns tab. I love these colors!

And then there was Janet - always found piecing away, and sometimes working on two quilts at once because - Why not?

Such a fun and creative group of wonderful women!

Oops..I think I missed Janet in this selfie! LOL!

Everyone was gone by 10am yesterday morning.  Laundry commenced. Always laundry.

But there is something so satisfying about setting everything back to rights after a group leaves.  I can still hear their laughter. So many good memories were made.

About lunch time Hubster Dave asked if I wanted to ride over to Marion with him to get the motorcycle licensed. Or Registered? Or some such thing.  Eventually it will be riding season and he wants to be ready.

I said sure - because other basic errands could be run at the same time.  Supplies were needed before we open back up again after this 2 week spring break.

Walmart, Dollar Tree - all the things.

It rained all day.  But look!

I'm so happy to see things turning green and trees blooming. Spring break, rain or no rain - it's a wonderful thing!

As you know, there is a LOT going on here through the rest of this week, spring break or no spring break.

Lovely to see the blooming trees. We may have snow again end of next week here in western NY. The sun is shining at the moment and there's no wind, so I'm out to pick up branches from the yard before treating myself to some sewing this afternoon. As always, thank you for sharing your time & talent. Best to you all.

You & your retreaters are always good for wonderful inspiration! Spring is still iffy here. Some budding but no flowers yet.
