Dinner & A (Quilt) Show!

What's better than dinner and a movie?

Dinner and a Quilt Show!

Today's post contains the second half of all of the wonderful quilts that were shown at the You & Two Friends retreat, group one! (First post HERE.)

The quilts are absolutely wonderful - better than dessert after a yummy meal of shredded beef street tacos ala Irene!

Margaret had been working on getting her Winter Blues quilt in greens assembled - including working on the border - off and on through retreat and when she unfurled it, my heart jumped for joy.

"Wintergreen" is wonderful!  She stated that she went with green while looking around her studio after completing Grassy Creek and the wild array of green scraps still sitting out.

Margaret's Grassy Creek.

Next up, binding!

And it doesn't stop there!

This beauty (Binding in Progress!) is made with Liberty of London prints!

Check out this border! WOW!

And that pop of solid red - fanrtastic.

More Liberty prints on the back!

These blocks are Easy Breezy in two sizes!

When set on point without sashings, they make a four-patch design!

Can you detect the Easy Breezy blocks now?

This is so much fun!

Laura made this super fun toddler quilt!

The lighter squares have Dachshund fabric - too cute!

Another baby quilt top - isn't it darling?

French Braid quilt in purples.  Beautiful!

Irene's Anthology Quilt!

Book available HERE.

Irene, Sherry and Mary all made the Anthology quilt as a block of the month over the span of two years.  I LOVE the odd sized 4'' x 5'' blocks in all of their variety!

Sherry's in blue.

Mary's in red!  Wow!

More binding in progress!

This lovely blue and yellow quilt was made by Vicky.

I am unaware of the pattern source.

I love what she did with the back!!

Hooray!

Kathy's Lemoyne Star Variation -

The red is a reminder of her mom.  She loved red roses.

Isn't that border print awesome?

Angie's Smith Mountain Morning in cheddar and blue!

Pattern from my book Scraps & Shirttails II!

And check out the BACK!!

These ladies are so prolific!

And for those wondering, no - they did not piece and quilt and bind entire quilts while on retreat, but they did bring finished quilts to share and photograph over the porch rail.  And I'm so glad they did!

Jill, working on her Xing blocks from String Frenzy

While Lola looks on!

Yesterday was a bustling day of putting it all back together - I arrived at the inn at 9am, to a house already silent as everyone bugged out bright and early to beat the rain.

I heard rumors of much quilt shop hopping being planned for homeward journeys.  I hope they had a blast!

Jill also headed out toward home, and that left Irene, Susan and me.  12 loads of laundry, 2 washer/dryers running, Much house cleaning (Thank you Susan - I couldn't do this without you!) and Irene catching up on desk work, paper work, and preparing for group #2 that arrives TODAY!

We did take a break, heading to West Jefferson, NC for dinner followed by a grocery run to restock the inn fridge for all of the meals that Irene is serving the retreaters.  We helped her unload everything to the kitchen and I headed home to find my own bed.

I can't believe we are here at Wednesday already!  How are things shaping up in your world?

While they may be purchased separately, you can purchase both together in the Rivanna + Bitcoin Bundle and save even more!

This bundle offer is only good through June 30th, 2021 at the low price of just $16.00! (Must purchase from the bundle listing - not as individual patterns.)

Check out Lynn's ladders for Bitcoin!

I love seeing all of the fabrics and progerss!

Okay - time to grab some breakfast and get this day under way.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Oh such beautiful quilts and such variety, so inspiring!! I especially love Kathy's String of Diamonds with the star design in neutrals from yesterday's blog - been searching but no luck. Is it one of Bonnie's patterns?
Hope you are feeling better every day, Bonnie!!

We are home from our week at Quiltville Inn and I don't have enough words to express how much fun we had. It's such a joy to meet like minded women who all share a passion for quilting. We share so much, learn so much and laugh so much!!!!!! It's just FUN! We walked every day, seeing something new on each walk. Newly blooming wild flowers, deer, birds, it's just beautiful. And when you walk far enough you get to see the Blue Ridge Mountains, breathtaking. Thanks for sharing your dream Bonnie and Irene is the perfect host. The food was amazing!!! If you get a chance to go on a visit GO!!!!!!!!!!

The quilt made with Liberty of London fabrics - is there a name or pattern to go with it or was this Margaret's own design? Really is cute!
