Let’s Machine Quilt! ((Double Give-Away!))

QA_Wrksp_Modern_Machine_Quilting_Redford1
Good Morning, everyone!  Guess what I’ve got up for you on the blog today?

My friend Catherine Redford has a brand new DVD out all about quilting on your home machine, giving you all the ins and outs of free motion stipples, swirls, feathers and more!

The video is nearly 80 minutes of awesome instruction showing you how to achieve results you never dreamed of coming from your own machine.

You NEED this video!

Now I could talk about it until I’m blue in the face, but I wanted some of this post to come from Catherine herself.

Take it away, Catherine!

catherine1

Isn’t she the cutest thing ever?

Just wait until you hear her lovely voice talking you through each exercize!

The DVD starts with an introduction to many of my favorite things that contribute to successful machine quilting, including batting and those very useful rolls of fusible tape for joining your leftover batting pieces together.

It’s an education in batting selection!

And then I start quilting!
Here’s the first placemat I show:

Check out that texture!

A combination of wavy lines and writing makes a wonderful place to start!

Catherine doing what she does best!

Don't you want to learn how to quilt these "peacock feathers" or "shells"?

MMQ_Sample2

Check out THIS sample!

Learn these stitching designs – and even more.

I just love this idea for stitch samples…how great!

Catherine continues:
Each day for the next eight days one of my quiltie friends is going to be blogging about the DVD. They have sat and watched it in all its 79 minutes of edu-tainment glory and I’m hoping they’ll have something nice to say about it!!
I’ll be writing each day too, with a little about our quilting connection and also some pictures and such of the quilts shown on the DVD.
At the end of the eight days I’ll have a wrap up post. Each day you can comment at the end of my post and we’ll have a drawing at the end of the time for some fabulous prizes… DVDs of course, but also my favorite Stella task lamp donated by Stella lighting and Julia Wood’s wonderful new Hexie love ruler. (I really want one of those!!)
CurvedHexagonRuler

Thanks for your words, Catherine! I loved this video and I hope you will check out Modern Machine Quilting available as a DVD or as instant digital download and add some new textures to your quilts in 2016!

In celebration of her new release Modern Machine Quilting , Catherine is running a giveaway over on her blog. Head over there and leave a comment and let her know you read about it here from me!

When the blog hop concludes, she will pick 2 DVD winners and 1 grand prize winner who will receive a DVD AND a Stella task lamp (winner’s choice of color!) and Julia’s Hexie Love ruler.

Thank you Bonnie for a great give away. I was at a quilt show in Portland, Ore this last year and had an opportunity to sit with Catherine during an event after the quilt show. She was a delight and has a great sense of humor. I had a great time. :o)
