We're On A Countdown!

Those of you who are my age may remember that One Hit Wonder song with the lyrics that went:

"It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN...." Da da da da....Da da da da da .....

And now you've got your ear worm for the day because this is the song that keeps going through my head on an endless loop as we get things ready for tomorrow.

Bit by bit, everything is falling into place, and then overnight I feel the need to make a change, and back to the text writing I go.

Today, after our workshop session, and before I leave for the chiropractor - that PDF will be ready and we'll be all systems go for our Halloween release of this year's Quiltville Winter Mystery Intro post.

I hope!

Meanwhile, next door - Design walls are filling!

Jacob's Chain in holiday colors - 'tis the season!

Have you made one in any other color way? Mine was red/blue/neutral from shirts.  But have you changed the colors?  I think it would be great in Black/Orange for Halloween too.

Someone's bound and determined to work on their County Clare in between the lines of the other things they are stitching this week.

I love this!

There is something so classic about a quilt with squares making chains across the surface.  Simply beautiful and ready for borders.

Great focal fabric taking center stage here -

Someone's string piecing something! OOhh!

Oh yes! I wonder what pattern from String Frenzy she is making!

I'll have to wait and find out - yesterday seemed to be the "hit all the quilt shops day" and at any given time there were folks leaving to go this way, that way, or the other.

Something autumn themed is happening here -

It's the technique where you center your focal square on top of the background square, fold and sew 4 sides creating a frame around the center square. It keeps everything lined up unlike cut sashings would.

It looks like a fun way to frame blocks - have you tried this? (See bottom row of blocks.)

I'm not fat! I'm fluffy and "Rubenesque!"

In between all of the quilters coming and going we had visitors who wanted to stop and say hi to Hazel before they got in their cars for quilt shop hopping.  She loves visitors!

I spent most of my "otherwise" time at my desk....but I did take a bit of time for sewing mid afternoon before going home.

I'm just not a happy girl unless I get to sew SOMETHING at some point during the day.

Row 9 is together!

And in between everything my mind has been working on what to do if you guys do want me to write the pattern for this to include all of the math (ie: piece counts, etc,) for you. That would also include organizing info, how many of each formation to make and assembly instructions so that there are no big Y seams when putting units together.

I've contacted the manufacturer who makes my little seam guides since I need to place an order for more and asked them about making the kite templates for me. I am also thinking that I will offer them as a set. This size is really small. The set could include this one, one 1/2'' larger, and another 1/2'' larger than that so there would be 3 sizes in the set and you could decide which size of kite you want to work with.

But it's going to take time and this will likely not happen until spring, so for now please just enjoy my posts while I work on this and share progress.

I also have some special friends to thank for some very unexpected fabric love over the past week!

Who knew that my neutral stash was self-restocking?  Just when I thought I found a way to sew a lot of it up with the kite quilt -

Thank you, friend!

Oh, my word!  Look at all of these squares!!

Through the windshield last night on our way to Galax -

Do yourself a favor and don't bother with the Applebee's in Galax. Just don't. Trust me. Never again. It was the worst.

Stitching some of this put all of that worst behind me.

And I guess that puts us to now.  I almost forgot!  Let's draw for our winners of out Festival Gift-Away!

I am so anxious to see what you do with this one. Whatever colors and fabrics you choose.

I'll be drawing for 2 winners who will each receive a Festival PDF pattern from me AND a Facets of Yellow color roll from our friends at  Cotton to Quilts!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

I'm not saying it's bad. It's just that I wake up, look in the mirror, don't feel any different. ⁣

I just never thought I'd see the day where I qualify for Medicare as I turn 65 in January.

But here I am.

Have a Fantasticc Friday, everyone -
