Before The Rains Came -

Yesterday's lunch on the back porch - not knowing what would be erupting within the next hour.

Holy cow did it come down!

We could see it coming in the distance - and before the deluge erupted we were able to get sme over the porch rail photos taken -

I'll share those tomorrow - in the meantime, here is what happened through the weekend from within the Quilting Quarters:

Isn't this gorgeous?

Bunny has graphed this out herself on graph paper, and it's a row by row thing, all of the rows completing was was begun or continued from the previous row.

I love autumn - I'm just not ready for it to be this close yet!

Chris is working at getting her On Ringo Lake to top status!  She is getting there!

While everyone was at lunch -

I love walking through the sewing stations when the room is empty - you can see what everyone has been up to!

For those who had asked about the sampler blocks on the wall, they come from Super Bloom by Laundry Basket quilts.

Beautiful applique block on the design wall -

A finished Allietare!

These blocks were made by everyone - brights on black - to be used in a children's donation quilt, setting yet to be determined.

Strippy top assembly in progress!

A VERY FIRST EVER QUILT getting its borders!  Hooray!

Something very 3D is happening here...

And more stack n whack/ one block wonder in progerss.

And this. Always This.

This is how Tula greets me when I arrive - WHERE IS MY BREAKFAST!?  Funy girl!

Lola has her moments, too - this was yesterday morning.  Click to Play:

I can't believe she is 14.

And yes, Ivy is also fine.  She loves living outside, but comes in at night to sleep - with Lola locked in the basement for the night, because.  That's the way we keep the fights down here.  It's a routine that everyone has come to accept and be okay with.

This also happened.  Click to Play:

All if this trimming yielded this:

And on to borders:

Sew much string block fun!

Today is my last day with Chris's Christmas in July group on retreat.

Come rain or come shine - they've been troopers.  More rain is in the forecast for this afternoon, but if it keeps the temps down we are all happy campers, even if that means umbrellas.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to get some stitches in somewhere.

I'm still binding on mom's gargantuan hexie - up to the 4th side now, but there is also a hanging sleeve to stitch down so it will be a few days to completion yet.

After that one is done I'm thinking of jumping right in on the binding to Huka Falls.

And I'll be back to working on myk recycled shirt stars - because something needs to go into my hoop and SOON!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

I find no arguments with this.

Happy Monday, folks!

Oh..that leaves quilt!! Gorgeous. Autumn is my most favorite season of the year.
Well, my indigo Way is a quilt top now. Time to sweep my studio, then trim the quilt top up. Run a stitch around the edge, Then the 3 borders!
Your kitties are just precious..
We have a Maine coon cat mix , his fur gets so long in the summer we have to get him groomed. Knots everywhere...can't keep brushing him. That happens tomorrow.
Wish it would downpour here in western Ma. .
Have a Sparkling day 😊
Blessings 🙏 💞

I have 2 14 year old furry babies. One I have had almost her entire life. My oldest guy was wandering for a lot of years before he found my house. They are great companions for me. I'm no spring chicken either.

Lola!! :) I love it when the kitties are in the post! My guy loves to go outside & he knows when it's time. If we don't make any moves out that way he starts meowing & letting us know, that, hey... humans, it's time for outdoors! HA! It's usually in the mornings with coffee or after dinner in the evenings. Today I am going to start working on some binding & get a little binding party started! Hopefully I can get back to Chilhowie this week! I've been kicking that box around for a while now. It's time. Have a blessed new week, everyone & happy quilting! :)

My little 16 yr. old kitty, Bella, isn't doing so well. I am just enjoying the time we have left with her. I think Tula is one of the prettiest cats. You have an enviable, ever-changing daily quilt show with all the creative campers that visit.

I have a 17 year old cat. I got her at age 8 months. We've been together since. In 2020 I got 2 sibling kittens (boy and girl). The old cat was not impressed, and the kittens gave her a wide bearth. In late 2021 I moved. For 3 days all of the cats were hissing at each other all day. After that they have been best buddies. The male kitten grooms my old cat, and she reciprocates. The three of them are a little gang, always hanging out together.

Kind of scary watching the speeded up trimming. Fun though.
