I love the fun and festivity each group brings to retreat at Quiltville Inn!
The fun with Chris's Christmas in July group didn't end with cookie decorating on the porch - it continued through the evening with red hot wood coals, glowing bracelets, necklaces and s'mores!
One has to wonder, and I didn't ask - do the glowing bracelets ATTRACT mosquitoes at night? LOL!
This all happened thanks to The Hubster who went and set it all up for them, with me missing the whole thing from my recliner, still foot up and doing my best not to feel like I was missing out on everything.
And summer rolls on!
Mmmmm! That looks so good!
More thank yous are in order!
Thank you thank you thank you -
Each one brings a smile!
Yesterday went swimmingly - even though it is hard to just let folks take care of things. The upside is - if I ever do this again (I HOPE NOT!) I will have folks well trained to step in come what may.
I went to bed last night so grateful for friends who have pitched in and bent over backwards to help me through this accident.
From Chris's Christmas in July group who left yesterday taking on a few extra chores before their departure and starting in on the laundry -
To my friend Martha who came to work alongside housekeeper Susan to make sure everything was done.
To The Hubster who went over on his lunch hour to mow the lawn and refill all of the soaps and shampoos and shower cleaners and restock tp, paper towels and napkins etc. I am truly grateful.
I am truly humbled by the Helping Hands that have pitched in so willingly.
Quiltville Inn is ready for the July Quiltvillians' arrival this afternoon!
After dinner QPO visit.
We are making sure that Lola gets her daily love time. She is fine and dandy.
I was able to sit on a stool and get some mail order out while the Hubs did some touch up weed eating on the yard after the afternoon rain stopped him earlier.
It was just a few outgoing items, but it makes ME feel productive to stay on top of that where I can.
Besides, these girls needed a windows down, nose out the window ride!
Not too excited about being inside with Lola, however!
It was a short visit, but it set things in order. I needed the outing.
I'm finding it increasingly hard to stay content with my hand quilting. My audiobook can only hold my attention for so long.
I'm getting antsy to be more and more mobile but making myself take it easy.
The knee scooter is a godsend. And yes, I go slow. And I keep my main weight on my good leg so I don't tip over. No taking corners at break-neck speeds. And I love the basket for carrying my tablet, phone, kindle, headset - and whatever else I need from place to place.
And things like this bring a smile - Click to Play:
I swear she can hear me pull the foil off a yogurt cup!
She loves licking the empties.
Tastes good, baby girl?
This is regular yogurt, not artificially sweetened. Be sure you are not feeding xylitol to your dogs. Xylitol is extremely toxic. Even small amounts of xylitol can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), seizures, liver failure, or even death in dogs.
I want to assure my readers that yes, I know this - and my dogs are safe.
Isn't this gorgeous?
The eye candy of Quiltville quits keeps coming, and brings a smile to my face.
From @catrinaquilts : "Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt over this last winter. Finally finished."

So nice to have a great back up team that you can count on without even asking .. a true blessing :)
Just want to put this out there. I read it this past week. "Labeled as “xylitol” within the ingredients list for most products, the same plant-derived substance can also be identified as “birch sugar” or “birch sap” in others, an important distinction for pet owners to make when screening a product to determine if it is safe for pets.Oct 8, 2021"
Congratulations 🎉 to the winners!!
You are such a smart Mama to your fur babies.
You are blessed to have such good friends and family to help you so much ❤️
