Over The Rail, Between the Raindrops!

Meet the Gingham Girls!

I just love the example here - that though we are all different (colors and fabrics) as quilters we still stand together to lift and encourage each other.

And to go on retreat for a week and have a much silly fun as possible - because WE NEED IT!

I love that they each made these quilts to match - but they are still individual.  Fabulous display, ladies!

And while things were "mostly" dry on the porch Sunday morning, I was the one getting sprinkled on while trying to get these photos before the sky opened up for real.

Just LOOK at this beautiful display!

Straits of Mackinac from String Frenzy, Garden Party from the Addicted to Scraps book, En Provence, and a straight set scrappy version of Frolic fill the frame here.  Absolutely stunning!

Look at these beauties!

This photo starts with a 54-40 or fight variation, a shout out to our Canadian Contingency who made this retreat extra fun (Thanks for coming Canadians!) Rhododendron Trail and that fantastic nosegay quilt top I shared block photos of earlier.

Here it is in full view!

It includes fabrics from as far back as the 1960s.  Such a beautiful way to save those scraps where they are preserved.  I love it!

Idaho Square Dance from the Addicted to Scraps book in green!  Unity, Cathedral Stars and Sister’s Choice  (Free Patterns tab

This Garden Party (Addicted to Scraps book) was in the process of being trimmed when the call for “Porch Photos Time!” came out.

What a gorgeous Frolic finish!

It was a few hours later in between bursts of rain that we all were able to come out to the front steps to do this photo! (Oh, the abundant humidity!)

We do photos when we can do photos!

Yesterday - some late finishes!

While the generator ran for 8 hours during the power outage to keep the quilters quilting (Thank you Generac!) our internet did not have the same luck.  CenturyLink is still out in our area from the storm.

The projected fix date is TOMORROW - so it was a day of much sewing and keep going without being pulled away by online activities.  Sometimes this is GOOD!

Garden Party with BLACK!  Love it!

Wanderlust - coming along!

More Hearts of Hope blocks.

Hearts of Hope is included as a bonus in the Solidarity PDF pattern booklet.

Out of machine projects?  There is ALWAYS time for binding!

When I headed home yesterday afternoon to take care of some deskwork (I have hot spot at home, but without internet I do not have boosted cell service at the QPO and I cannot connect) the ladies were beginning to settle in to an easy evening of hand stitching and movies projected onto the dining room wall.

I hope Irene got some photos of that!

By the time I arrive this morning to start laundry - the house will be empty as everyone was bugging out early this morning due to long drives and flights home.

Thank you for coming, Sewciologists!  It was a wonderful week and I will miss hearing your machines humming, and the sound of your laughter ringing around the porch.

With the upcoming Independence Day holiday,  I've marked Solidarity (including the Hearts of Hope quilt as a Bonus) at 25% off through 7/5/22

Unity and Courthouse Square are also discounted 25% – no coupon code needed.

Patterns are available in both the Quiltville Store and the Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

It's not a setback, it's a bounce back!

Bounce back higher than where you first started -

With a smile!

Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!

I like that! Bouncing is better than falling. Beautiful quilts over the rails! I remember Midwest Humidity, not going back in the Summertime to visit! Enjoying my AC in the PNW.
It's Sweet onion time and time for Sweets Baseball tonight. Gonna Sew all day!

What a fabulous quilt show! I love seeing what the quilters are working on and it's so inspiring to see the same quilt made in different colours. I just finished my Unity quilt so it was fun to see one in the railing display! Great job ladies!

love looking at the quilts over the railing. We had our first rolling blackout last night. Waiting for our Generac to be installed so we don't ever have to be wihout power.
