This was last night's end to a very busy quilty day -
The May Quiltvillians enjoying a delicious dinner on the back porch at Quiltville Inn.
Many of these gals are first timers - their first time staying at the inn, and the first time meeting each other!
Of course, we have repeat offenders attenders as well. (LOL!) It makes for a happy mix of new friendships, as well as old home week for those who already know each other.
Just before breakfast - much chatter in the kitchen!
We have beautiful summery featherweights at hand!
Check out this gorgeous pink one too!
The projects are many!
Charlotte is working up her Quiltmaker Ruby Jubilee quilt in beautiful greens!
Fit for a grandson!
Basket Toss blocks up on the wall!
Rebecca and Sharon, pedal to the metal!
I had a few takers on yesterday's walk offer!
Streams were flowing after our rain from over the weekend.
This tumble down house can barely be seen through the overgrowth.
I love sharing the Halsey house -
It would be so lovely if someone could restore it.
Thanks for keeping me company, ladies!
Evening time on the grass with Zoey & Mabel.
While dinner was going on - this was also happening:
We'll call this yesterday's Rhodie Explosion - but look up on the roof.
We had some handymen come by who are going to replace some rotted boards from the roofline. Places with water damage from the time before we installed gutters last year.
There is also some drywall to be finished in the attic passageway, and in the garage/shop bathroom.
Son Jeff is just too busy with his job in high swing, and these guys were doing some work for Martha & Don on their farm so they come highly recommended.
They should start next week.
Today the door guy comes to measure the French doors from the kitchen to the porch for that door replacement. We just keep picking "The Next Thing" and chipping away at that list, knowing that a house like this will NEVER be all the way done.
There will always be SOMETHING.
This happened last night.
The last quilting stitch was put in, tied off and thread ends buried.
It's done!
This morning it's in the wash getting marks removed. I'm excited to share that result - this is the first time I've used the Crayola Super Wash Out markers to mark fans all over a quilt.
It looks like I got the hexie quilt basted in the nick of time - I'll be ready to begin that one tonight.
Today is supposed to be a scorcher - it's not even Memorial Day and temps will be reaching 87.
I know that is laughable for those who live in hotter/dryer climes, but this is Appalachia. We rarely get above 85 in the summer.
For this reason, anyone who wants to get out on a hike with me will be ready to go right after breakfast. We need to enjoy the cool while we can - and then quilt the rest of the day away in air conditioned comfort.

I adore that photo of your fan quilting in the hoop! Can't wait to see the finished quilt and hear if you are happy with how the markings washed out!

Oh how I love seeing all the coloured featherweights. I wish there was someone in the UK who offered this service. Thank you for my daily dose (almost) of Quiltville capers Bonnie!
