Leap Day Quilty Box Gift-Away!

Happy Leap Day, everyone!

And have I ever got a Leap day way to celebrate today – the last day of February 2020 Quilty Box Gift-Away!

The beauties in this box are more than simply beautiful – it’s a great way to chase my winter blah’s away – we got another 4’’ of snow overnight!

These colors and fabrics have really inspired me this morning as I’ve prepared the photos for this post.

They are going to go right into one of my current projects – I just have to stitch some spring into my life – like RIGHT. NOW!!

The Bungalow fabric line by Amy Gibson!

Just look at these pretties!

16 Fat 1/8s of Bungalow!

I love ths springy colors and feminine prints and florals – And that pop of orange in the upper left.  Tulips, Daffodils, Day lilies, Hyacinths, Rhododendrons, Mountain Laurel, Wisteria, all of my favorites – they are all in here!

All of the fabrics in the line.

Snow was swirling beyond the windows yesterday afternoon!

While some stayed inside all warm and cozy -

Three of us braved the weather and went for a long winter walk!

The closest safe place is up at Oak Hill Academy -

We got some long range views through the snowy fog -

And believe me when I say it was up hill – both ways!

Good smells were coming from the kitchen by the time I went home.

This happened overnight!

7am photo – daylight just arriving.

The bird feeder is extremely busy!

Well, this is fun! NOT!

While I type this the Hubster is plowing the drive with the blade on the RZR.  He’ll be taking me to Quiltville Inn today as the roads are that bad.

Who knows – I just may have to stay the night and party with the girls!  (Yes, there was line dancing in the front foyer yesterday afternoon as well – lead by Irene.  What a hoot!)

There are more blocks kits at the ready -

And more to be cut out.

I did a happy dance when I settled on 30 blocks.  And then I remembered that there are 4 tulips per block and the number jumped to 120 and now it seems endless. HA!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

The last time we had a Saturday Leap year was 1992.

The next time Leap year falls on a Saturday will be in 2048

I plan on making this one memorable with a Snow Day Sew Day Saturday Leap Day!

How with you spend yours?

I made your tulip pattern into a table topper yesterday. It as ambitious as your project, but I needed some color in my life and your patter fit the bill.

I'm enjoying a sunny sew day, along with a nice walk without having to bundle up, and making a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Also shopping for mystery quilts and the password keeper (there's just too many to keep up with anymore). I know y'all will have a fabulous day, maybe even build a snowman. Have Fun!

Amy Gibson was one of my first quilting teacher through Craftsy than is now Blueprint. Loved her teaching style.

Several of those fabrics in the give-away would have looked good in Frolic! No snow here - in fact, I mowed the yard today. Well, at least part of it - some areas were still too soggy, even after three days without rain.

Twas a bright and calm weather day here, and I was finally able to actually get to the "reveal" part of Frolic Mystery. Loving the way the colors play with each other, And how easily all the little sub units are coming together with how you told us to press the seams. I expect to see stars today. Thanks for sharing the fun of snow walks and stitching with energetic ladies at the Quiltville Inn

I have been working on Step #9 on your Mystery quilt, Frolic. It's sooo pretty. Borders to go. Thank you Bonnie for doing this for your readers. I don't know how you made this quilt so fast, it's a lot of work.
