We were having such a great time, we were ripping out as much as we were sewing in because we could not stop laughing!
And those triangles?
Well, they seem to have their own agenda and got themselves turned around while we were not looking, creating new and interesting designs of their own – not what we intended!
Yesterday’s workshop was Cathedral Stars from the free patterns tab and everyone brought plenty of scraps to sew and share, each quilt coming together through the vision of its maker with colors and fabric choices oh so varied.
Would you feel extremely jealous if I told you that we had ALL of the windows open, doors flung wide to catch the gentle breezes as it was 84 degrees out?
It’s snowing at home. When I checked yesterday afternoon it was 25 with a chance of 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation. I miss home. I miss family. I miss Sadie and the kitties, I do NOT miss the weather!
So glad for this time in Southern California to thaw my toes!
Sharing and swapping for more variety!

Today we’ve got a day to play with Split 9 Patch, another from the free patterns tab. If you started this one as a Leader & Ender with me when it was our yearly challenge, and you haven’t touched it in a while, why not pull it out on and work on it today with us?!
I’m giving a presentation with the Conejo Valley guild at their meeting tonight. If you are in the area, come on by and see me!
Tomorrow I’m winging my way to Phoenix to see my dad and my brother and family as well as some friends. My dad turned 76 trombones on the 11th!
Happy Birthday, Papa!
This is my favorite photo of me and my dad, taken in the summer of 1963 in Minneapolis at the home of my grandparents.

I'm glad you can thaw your toes in the southwest, too. Nothing buy Rainy weather in the PNW. Bring your rain boots next year. I see we are choosing the projects for the Royal Ridges retreat in the woods. Happy Belated Birthday to your dad.
Believe me Bonnie.....you are not missing anything here (NC) weather-wise............not much snow today but plenty of sleet and ice. Enjoy So. California's weather (I'm from there but do not miss the traffic) and have a great time with your dad in Arizona.
