A Return to Threads Galore & Quilt Inn!

20151015_111423
Meet Carol and Dan Perkins!

The owners, creators and powers that be behind Threads Galore Quilt Shop and their retreat house, Quilt Inn in Rangeley, Maine!

They are the folks that put on TWO bang up retreat seasons each year covering a week in April, and TWO fall sessions in October.

Yes, they are doing it again this coming weekend, and Dan will be teaching his magic to a whole new bunch of retreaters that will start coming in on Thursday and sew through the weekend, just as we did.

I LOVE their shop, built on to the back of their house, Maine style!

Saddleback Mountain from our retreat!

VisitMaine.com boasts:
Maine’s Rangeley Lakes region consists of six major lakes plus hundreds of smaller lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams stretched out below 4,120-foot Saddleback Mountain, where you can go downhill skiing or snowboarding.
High-altitude snow in this region also ensures well-groomed trails for snowshoeing, snowmobiling or cross-country skiing.
In the warmer months, you can go hiking, swimming, boating or fishing in the lakes region for brook trout or landlocked salmon.
You can also enjoy a lake cruise with one of the Rangeley Region Lake Cruises. You'll find views of these waterways along the Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway.
You can also picnic beside four waterfalls.

Beautiful lakes!
At Rangeley Lake State Park, you can explore nearly 900 acres of land around the lake. You'll find a swimming area on the lake's southern edge as well as a picnic area with tables and grills, a ball field, restrooms and ample parking.
You can launch your motorboat, canoe or kayak at the concrete boat launch. You can also hike and camp here—a small campground provides 50 sites for tenting, camper trailers and RVs as well as a playground. The park is open from May 15 to Oct. 1.

But for quilters who come --- Threads Galore and Quilt Inn are the top destinations in Rangeley!

I arrived home last night, reaching my front door about 11pm and straight to bed.

My laundry is running.  I have today to re-pack and get book orders out – I’m on my way to Seattle tomorrow!

It IS Tuesday, right? I had to double check to be sure!

I love that they are on Pleasant Street, how appropriate.

I couldn't agree more. My "Seven Sisters" group has enjoyed the hospitality of Dan and Carol at the Quilt Inn for the past 4 years and we have a blast. I just can't recommend it enough. Thanks for sharing!

It looks to be a delightful place to retreat. Alas, I'm on the opposite side of the country. I can dream.
