Make Way For...Gravelman!

Give a guy a pile of gravel and he will park the Razr on it.

That's a given!

The cabin is out on a dirt road.  The roads are very well maintained, but gravel is a must in the land of rain-plus-dirt-equals-mud.

We did a load of gravel last year, but it just wasn't enough to get the job done, so this weekend, knowing we would be up here, we had another half load delivered.

Gravel is heavy.

And it is an extra pain when you arrive to find it has been delivered already, and dumped NOT where you wanted it to be dumped!

It was supposed to go in the side yard, where the RED FLAG was placed.

But no problem.  We've got friend RICK!

Make Way for Gravelman!

What is it about guys and their toys?  Give a man a tractor and he is all smiles and, as Tim-the-Tool-Man would say -- AR AR AR AR ARRRR!

Gravel in the side yard, all the way to the shed!

This is going to control a LOT of mud tracking!

Graveling the rest of the path to the basement level!

Without this tractor, this would have been a long and hard shovel-and-wheel-barrow job.  I'm grateful for good friends who don't mind getting dirty in the process!

Path around the wall, all the way to the bottom back door!

Now I want some sort of edging to go around the outside edge of the gravel path to keep it in place.  That's a chore for a different weekend at this point.

See Sadie?  She and Beanie had the best time playing while the guys were doing gravel duty.

True Friends!

Mona and Beanie, Sadie and I had a good long chat while I was sewing together a quilt top!  She was able to see how to put a top "on point"  and is excited to try it with her mom's quilt that she has been working on.

In fact, we've got a play date set for Tomorrow afternoon so there will be some more Mona progress to post about.  We haven't had a chance to sew together for a while, so I'm looking forward to it.

Now, will you plant English Primroses all along the outer edge so that it is "The Primrose Path?" Sadie & Beanie are in a cuteness competition and both winning!

I've heard, "The only difference between men and boys is the size of their toys." Rick probably loved his Tonka trucks when he was a kid!
