We gathered together on Wednesday evening for the monthly meeting of the West Houston Quilters Guild, and what a crowd came!
Meetings are at the Bear Creek Community Center, a great facility surrounded by acres and acres of park and nature.
We had had our Love Shack workshop the day before, and it was fun to see the smiling faces again as everyone filed in and said hello.
One thing I love doing is watching groups – and seeing how people interact from each other. I’m sure you agree as I do, that you can tell the dynamics of a group by watching what is going on as people are milling around before the meeting starts. Lots of hugs, hellos, how-are-yous, and happy chatter is the sign of a very connected group of women (and men) who are happy to be there and call this guild HOME!
Show & Share was fantastic!
We have an ALMOST done Love Shack already!
There was a completed Celtic Solstice in the house!
Pineapple Blossom was a definite show stopper!
And extras were made into this smaller lap size version:
Cute!
The free pattern for Pineapple Blossom is found under the Free Patterns Tab at the top of the blog.
A gorgeous Lazy Sunday, quilted and bound!
We had a BUNDLE of Smoky Mountain Stars made during a challenge!
And I got close ups of them afterwards:
Plaids!
1930s Scraps! Sweet!
Jewel tones! Beautiful!
The free pattern for Smoky Mountain Stars is also found under the Free Patterns Tab at the top of the blog.
I had a great time in West Houston! If you find yourself in their area, check their guild website out HERE and plan on dropping in for a meeting--- I know they’d love to see you!
