iPhone-o-gram! Rained out yet again!

Our plans for a leisurely drive on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. were rained out yet again this morning.

So we took a leisurely drive into Boone instead exchanging yesterday's bronze light kits for the ceiling fans for black ones.

Amazing how much stuff you find you need for a new place.

Also – just because a large bottle of dishwashing soap is one dollar at the dollar store – does not mean that it will cut grease or clean dishes! I gave up on that and bought a huge bottle of Dawn!

This little guy did not come home with me this trip – but I have a feeling he will come home with me next time! This is a Jim Shore porch bear! And he would be perfect for the front deck of the cabin.

I have finished the binding on two quilts so far – on a roll here!

I've got three sides left to bind on the last one – and that one will be done as well. I have been in a binding frenzy while up here enjoying my family.

Rain or not – this place is heaven! And I'm still pinching myself that this dream has become a reality.

Much love from Buck Mountain,

Bonnie

The rain is here too. We have decided that we will enjoy as much as possible we have rain for a reason - it makes all things beautiful as my FIL used to say.

Welcome the rain, it's a minor inconvenience to your exploring but it keeps your view green and beautiful. Smokey is so cute, I hope he gets to come home with you. New place, new stuff, it's a fact. Once you have it like you want it, you'll not want to ever leave.

I am pinching myself too at your good fortune. You work so hard and are so very deserving of this little slice of heaven for you and your men to escape too! Take plenty of time to enjoy it.

There is a Farmer's Market in Boone. I follow Wild Pilgrim Farm on Facebook and they have all organic veggies and meats from their farm at that Farmer's Market every Saturday! Check it out! Wish I lived close enough to take advantage of it.

1985 my brains fell out when I turned 45 amd I bought a STates Blue Harley Davidson 12 Sporster. I had spent the summer learnig on a 1970 ORANGE HOnda 400 and was ready to move up or stop riding. I just did it as Mr Wonderful mad me nuts when we rode two up. This bike is beautiful...gorgeous...and it was Halloween and hubbie wanted to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway "go tell your boss you are taking next week off" and we found me a pack for the sissy bar, a new helmet and packed and off we went from Northern NJ to Front Rpray and that connects to Blue Ridge...all the way to Asheville..slow glorious curves, road guys hooting that the Gal not my hubbie on his BMW had the "Real Bike" trip of a lifetime. Got to have priviledged parking right in from of Van Der Bult mansion for bikes...we have met you and i some yeras back..same build, height, kinda understated rowdy....I think my bike may have to come live at your new place. ARthritis is taking me off her...BUt you..it would go with your eyes.....she rides rain well...she can takeout the big bikes from a dead stop....and I have bags so you can stick your joyeius "finds in when you go out meandering.

Love your hiuse...You have the mountains I have the lakes in wiscosin and we quilt...life is good.

I thought I would give the Dollar Store dish soap a whirl also...no bubbles, no nothing! Don't know how much water they used to make it a dollar's worth but still not worth it! Dawn is once again at my sink.
