Join Me for The Bavarian Christmas Markets!

I’m very excited to share a really special trip with you…..I am so pinching myself with this one!

Yes, I know….I know!  We are finally getting OUT of the snow-zone and into SPRING here in the USA, but you know how quickly seasons pass--

I’ve been invited by Jim West and Sew Many Places to be a tour escort for an amazing trip to Germany, Austria & Bavaria this December 6-14, 2013!

As a long time fan of “The Sound of Music”……I can hardly wait to go stand on those steps where Julie Andrews as Maria and the Von Trapp family children first sang “Do Re Mi”!

To see the city of Ruhpolding, nestled in the south of the Chiemgau region in the Alps.   To FINALLY in my life time, visit Neuschwanstein Castle!

And the Christmas Markets are legendary!

Time to start planning ahead for that Winter Wonderland!

Space is limited, and now is the time to think ahead for this special trip!  It’s the perfect excursion to bring your spouse, friend or family member.  This is not a tour where we will be having a quilting class….this is a Holiday Adventure in the company of other quilters, friends and family...and perhaps, meeting up with a German quilt group for a meet and greet! ((We are working on that aspect!))

Be watching for more info.  As soon as I have the entire itinerary in my hot little hands, I'll be posting it!  But for today...I'm humming "Edelweiss" in my head, and thinking of how I used to sing it with my dad while he played on his guitar and I was the harmony........

Come make some memories with me!

Saving up for our 2015 trip Down Under, but can appreciate how absolutely gorgeous your tour will be, safe journey when the time comes!

I have been to the Munich Christmas market as well as several others. Lots of cool stuff, not to mention the ambiance. Watch out for the Gluehwein (sorry no umlaut on this keyboard). It's warm, spiced red wine sold in souvenir mugs. Very yummy when standing about in the cold. By the way, you can buy the mugs without the wine if, like me, you aren't supposed to drink alcohol with your meds.

Bonnie, have you kept track of how many miles you've traveled since you began teaching and tour-leading? You could include an odometer as a blog widget/gadget!

Oh my goodness, how cool is this?!? I had a daughter do a semester abroad in Austria. She was there over Christmas and brought me a beautifully hand carved nativity set from the Christmas Markets.
Beware of the Krampus!! : )

Oh my word Bonnie, what an unbelievable opportunity!!! If I was inclined to set foot on an airplane, I would seriously consider it...but I haven't flown since a bad experience over 40 years ago on a flight back from Hawaii. Nothing horrible, but with a nine month old baby on my lap, it just stuck with me and sadly I haven't flown since, *sigh* and I know full well on how much I'm missing out on. BUT...I am so excited for you, how beautiful it's going to be. Congratulations Bonnie and big, big hugs...

Oh Bonnie, you're going to love Germany and the people. My son was stationed in the Army there, then married a German girl last June. I've visited three times in the past few years; during Christmas with the wonderful markets, at Easter and in June. It's lovely there. The history, churches, etc. You just want to soak it all up! How exciting for you!

You will love it Bonnie! You will visit wonderful, charming places! And the Christmas Markets really are fantastic. I never miss a chance to visit one, it's just a short trip for me :)

I'd go just for the Christmas Market! I've already been to most of the other places, but not for 20 years. Bavaria is my favorite place in the whole world, the Passion Play in Oberammergau was fantastic.

Hehe I'm sorry I just had to thnk of the huge boost you gave the already quite over-confident Bavarians by not including them in "Germany" ... they are going to love it.
Ahh well enjoy the tour!
