I'm so happy with how it turned out!
Got a stack of magazines to go through to save which articles and photos I want –
But look at what I came across while sorting!
My first ever quilt magazine-- McCall's needlework and crafts Bicentennial quilt book 1975 :-)
Some things I will never get rid of!
I forgot the rest of the evening to put my feet upon the treadle and do some easy piecing – it's been a great day!

what a great room, now if I could just do that with mine! Mine isn't as spacious, but has spilled out of the sewing room and into the rest of the basement!

I have that book/magazine too. It is the very first quilting 'book' I ever bought. A classic!
Your easy chair looks so inviting. Glad you are almost back to normal in the sewing space.
It really turned out nice and looks so comfy! You will surely enjoy sitting in your chair with a fire going and sewing on many quilts.

My mom took a quilting class in 1975/76 in San Jose. I remember that magazine in our house. :)
Back to vintage sewing machines--I have a Singer 301a that I bought new when I started college in 1956 and was majoring in home economics. I was planning to teach but got married before I finished. Later I got my degree in another field.
I almost traded my machine in when I bought a Viking in the 1970s, but thankfully I kept it. I sewed many clothes on it over the years. Now I take it to classes and also use it occasionally because it sews so well. I have the set-in card table for it plus all the accessories including a zigzag attachment. I am glad to hear that so many others are being preserved and used.
So when shall we all be over to revel in the quilting vibe that the new room exudes???
You should probably get some of those sleeves comic book collectors use to keep their old issues safe. Then humidity and dryness won't make the paper age so quickly and keep the covers in best condition. These are pretty precious items.

I am curious about two things. The quilt hanging behind the computer. More details please? And what is the motor in the lower right portion of the picture? Not a sewing machine?
Everything came together beautifully. I love that new chair you bought to sit and do your hand work in. It that a recliner? Enjoy the new space you created.
