I spotted a familiar bentwood case and got closer to inspect it.
After raising the cover I discovered a machine I had never seen before. It looks like a three-quarter sized machine that's been motorized. There is no belt the motor bushing that's right up against the handwheel to turn the handwheel to sew.
It can't be treadles as is because there is no grill for the belt so that would need a new piece.
However it might be a great candidate for a handcrank!
I've never seen details like this or this brand and I'm greatly intrigued thinking I need to go back and get it!
But for now, my sanity kicks in and tells me enough is enough. For now, anyway.

oh, man. I have been shopping, too. My daughter in another state has been searching for a vintage machine capable of zig zag stitches. She's particularly fond of the Rocketeer. Of course, this means I am seeing some I'd like, too. Since I am under-employed (under-earning!) right now, I really can't justify buying one no matter how good the deal, but man of man am I tempted. There are some beauties around, aren't there? Guess I'll just love the one(s) I'm with!!

The Plaza has beautiful Art Deco decals.... so she can not lie about her age.
Another beauty. Did you write down the Serial # so you could look up and see how old it is and where she was made? If not Yes, Definitely go back and see if it is still there. After posting someone might have beat you to it. How much was it?
After watching you hand crank your Singer, I can see why they electrified these when they could. She is a beauty. It would be fun to see her restored, but I get it about leaving her behind. So many machines, so little . . . space?

I've never heard of this machine, but it sure is a beauty! I hope you buy it and restore the shine and the wood base is beautiful too.
That's a sweet one. I wonder though, if you make it a handcrank, would the bentwood case still fit over it afterwards??
