Quilt Cam Time -- Boring Bow-Ties!

I am ready for some machine time...just me, the machine, and a few of my closest virtual friends! You!! LOL

I really want to get these bow-tie blocks together, but this is the part that drags on and drags on for me. I'm just sewing them into 9 patches.

Do you have some handwork to bring? Come sit and stitch and chat a bit!

Tomorrow I've got to head out to South Carolina, I've got a workshop in Aiken on Saturday, so I won't be on very late tonight. I still have to pack the car!

I'm going to leave the QuiltCam up for about an hour or so----

*Note* If it says OFFLINE below -- you missed it! It's live streaming, not a recording, so you can't play it back like re-runs, you'll just have to join us next time!

Wanna join me?

Hi Bonnie, Soscrappy from sunny Florida checking in. Was going to call it an early night, but now that I see you sewing, I am inspired to iron some new fabric and get some cutting done for my Hawaii Sunset quilt. Thanks for kicking me into gear tonight.

hi Bonnie T.from Va. What scissors did you take to Bali and did you have any problems getting them back in the country?

Thank you for the 'binding' tip - using the ladder stitch...I LOVE IT! Of course, it's taking me a little longer this way - I keep stopping and looking for the stitches - you are RIGHT - You Can NOT See them! LOL

Are you sure you didn't go to a Physical Therapist in Flower Mound, Texas? Sounds exactly like my first experience with a Physical Therapist yesterday. Loving your Live Stream! Praying for your healing.

Hi Bonnie - welcome back - tell me about your thread - where do you get those spools and what type and weight do you use?

you don't clip the pieces apart before you sew the next ones to it?

Hi Bonnie,I listen to audio books while I sew. Some of my quilts I even identify by the book I listened to while I made it. LOL.
BTW, I went to Ireland this past June for the quilt show and tour. You are going to love it! It was so wonderful and so GREEN!

I love to listen to Piano Guys while I sew. They are awesome! All instrumental and very lively. Great for inspiration while working at the longarm machine

I "watch" TV while sewing. I'm a great fan of Law & Order and Criminal Minds. Hubby says he's seen that episode before... my reply "naaaaaaaaaahhh", I've never seen it before! LOL. Love watching you "work", Bonnie and am happy to hear your thought process to boot. Thanks for sharing all you do!!!

Well, that was weird. Your live stream burped and then you were sewing in your nearly insane quilt, and then a demo of the spool block, and then back to bowties.

I agree on the aurifil thread - love it. And yes i def. have the eternal paisley fabric. I find a piece of millenium fabric now and then and think of you...is that a DQ - so lucky - we don't have many of those in CT.

DI IN TN: Just e-mailed you link to the sewing machine fabric. :) Off to eat dinner...

Bonnie,
Thanks for the sewing cam.
I have a question about your table height...if my machine is on a regular 30" table my arms get tired,so how do you compensate for the extra height you have there?
Second, CHANGE therapist quickly. I've been going to a wonderful guy for a year and he never question the pain, just tries to remove it.

Doing my hand sewing with Baptist fans! My first try at free hand quilting, and loving it!

Hi Bonnie, I'm thinking about buying an ipad. Can I watch you on it?

Anne said...

Hi Bonnie! Thank you for your posts on FaceBook. I feel like I have an extra friend out there. I tend to sit highter. I use a shorter par stool with my table (a drawing board from Ikea) set at the hightest height... the peddle works fine and I can lean myself just off the chair.

Valerie said...

FYI, I know my linky worked because I've gotten a comment. A little red x shows to the left of my name. I think it is so the person who does the link can delete their own if they want to. Hope this helps.

YES...I can see your post on Bonnie's page. I wondered about the red X too (I do not see it on yours)...I could see it on my post...I clicked on it to see what would happen - and it's just there so YOU can remove your OWN post ~ Bonnie I hope you read this too...

Bonnie -
HaHaHa, I am watching you and sewing on a crib quilt! My group donates them to the NICU at Children's Hospital in Knoxville, and I try to make one a month for that project. It is a great way to try a new technique or to use up a few fat quarters.

I think I have some of that calico you just showed. I suspect it was given to me by one of my friends.

Bonnie - no way is this quilt boring. You've put together 4/5 blocks, drunk some of your chocolate milkshake, taught me what leaders & enders are, talked to all of us & remembered to breathe lol. I'm having fun watching this. It's 11am on Friday morning in Melbourne, Aus. Thanks for the fun!!

Hi Bonnie, a quilt shop owner told me hat if you spray your quilt first with spray starch and then use those friction pens that it won't com back at alater date. I have not tried it. Joyce

Hi Bonnie, caught your last half hour and enjoyed your comments on everything! You are better than cable TV! I have started kitting the spools and was a little tense with myself as I didn't think the fabric was "right", but after a bit I just picked from the top. Feels freer somehow and better for me. Have a great class and family time this weekend. Hope to see you up and running - webcam- next week! Thank again.
