If you look on your appliances, they may be dual voltage themselves. Most do these days. If they have dual voltages listed, all you need are the adaptors. Good luck and have fun!

My husband has arthritis in his hands and when I started taking cherry juice for my gout he started using it too and has gotten more mobility and less pain in his hands. This might help. Tart Cherry juice or the tablets may help.
Yes I have Osteoarthritis the Dr said to limit myself when I do hand quilt and use something like a tv tray or small table to use as support and also to do
Hand/finger stretches before and after and wear the hand supports the brown elastic ones

I have been working on 6 memorial quilts from shirts.. Sewing rows together now. Yay! When you are using shirts how wide of a border do you use. I was thinking of making a thin shirt border before my final one. I have to keep all of the exactly the same...I have been in production mode from the beginning.
Music is great! Sound level great! I sew with my iPod on shuffle as well! Similar mix on mine!

I am working on your string basket weave pattern. Mine aren't really strings as I had cut them into strips, but they are the small width strips (under 2 inches). I am not allowing myself to start a new "project" until I finish all the unfinished things (some going back further than the one you're working on! Like 1999) so this is perfect for times when I want to sew but don't want to get into more complicated stuff like figuring out how to finish a couple of those projects. Actually, it is kind of addicting and I don't want to stop!

It's funny you named your new machine Doris. When I was a kid there was a local bakery that had one of those advertisemnts that just stick with you. A little girl makes a little boy a peanut butter & jelly sandwich with the bread and he says "What a good cook Doris". So it was one of those things we always would say after a great meal someone fixed us. My DH is from Texas and didn't know what the heck I was talking about the first time I said it to him. You just said "Doris is a good girl" so it reminded me of that commercial.

I have been working on a "Sylvia's Bridal Sampler" for 2 years or so. I think the last time I pulled it out was April. I have 45 blocks made....so only 95 to go! I also work on my "Grandmother's Flower Garden" when I am waiting at Dr. offices or other long waits. My Grandma started it in the 40s and I inherited the incomplete flowers when she passed. These are both WIPs and probably will be for some time!

I made a jelly roll quilt with scraps. I cut it as I was cutting for the in Hershey this July. They were not the same length. But with the Jelly Roll, you cut off the first 18 or so inches to make them more random..
Speaking of adding variety to scraps, my local quilt shop has a couple of old laundry baskets filled with fat 1/8's cut from sale items, bolt ends, etc. at 50c-99c each. It was great for my Orca Bay quilt.

I travel with my own tea because most restaurants don't have decaf tea. Why is it they will provide decaf coffee but not decaf tea? Don't drink coffee and can't drink cafeine as it messes up my heart, so she might not have been cheap afterall.

Enjoying sewing with you..am putting strips for a Christmas tree skirt. My Featherweight is close to a twin of yours...slight variation of the design, but so cool! Got it about a year ago, all gunked up with inner grease, kinda like enough grease to cook a couple of eggs...cleaned it up, took it to a local retired Singer mechanic and it has been going strong.

I was able to watch for at least an hour, but that must have happened either before or after I was watching. So what's the tip? Why serger thread and polyester thread for binding? Inquiring minds want to know.

My 2nd night watching you and I really enjoyed myself, thank you. I did have a little bit of guilt when you said you would rather being sewing because you don't want to be snacking! I was doing just that! The first night, I did pull out my Singer Featherweight 221 - 1947 but it sounded so bad...I stopped because I didn't want to do any damage. I'm from Surrey, B.C. and in Lynden, Washington (about 2 hours away across the border) this coming Friday there is an all day class on how to upkeep/maintain Featherweights...I'm calling them on Monday to sign up. I love my Featherweight. Sew when you return and I'm watch you again, I hope to be sewing and not snacking!
