It's been a frustrating morning here at LAX.
My flight to Washington/Dulles was delayed 1.5 hours and there was no other way to route me ((holiday weekend!)) so I'm missing my next connection to Greensboro and will have to spend the night near DC.
That's okay. Just give me a bed and a quiet place to sleep off my jetlag and I'll be fine!
The eternal hexies are ready to go. I've made quite a bit of progress on this last section, but still not close to done!
My seat on this flight is not first class, but I am happy with the extra legroom!
Off we go!

Bonnie, welcome home! I hope your trip all the way home is uneventful from here on.
Thank you for all you do and I have traveled to Bali vicariously through you. I only wish that I could have been with you in person. My husband isn't much on traveling to far-off places but last night I told him we need to start saving for a trip like this. He said he thought it would be really interesting to see how batik fabric is made, how people in other parts of the world live, and to see their cultures. He has been hearing about your trip all week! Once again, thank you for all your interesting and heartfelt posts. I have learned so much.

Good evening and welcome home to the USA. I really enjoyed your trip. Being vertically challenged is sometimes a godsend, but I do love the exit row seats! Safe travels and slumbering, my friend. Maybe you will get to see the Once in a Blue Moon, moon during your flight. We have clouds and showers in our neck of the woods.

Bonnie, please tell us you have a "Batik Bonanza" quilt planned for us. The next mystery quilt maybe? What better use for all those batik scrap bags you found early on in your trip!
I was thinking the SAME thing!~ I purchased a shirt today at Goodwill. Says handmade, it has sea turtles on it. Blue. I was thinking, "I sure hope Bonnie does another mystery quilt soon". I have not joined in on one yet, and I'm really looking forward to it. Bonnie, I've looked at your blog off and on for ages, but I've been so geographically challenged that i didn't have much internet svc, etc. So, I'm FINALLY in a position to actually IMPLEMENT some of your ideas and I'm having so much FUN!~ Then, there's Quiltcam!~ wow! I
I am so glad you are home. I can not even imagine how tired you must be. I"m glad you are spending the night in a nice, cold, dark hotel room. Don't you love how you can make it dark with the curtains and it's so cold?!?! I do anyways. May you have a nice HOT , steamy shower and fluffy towels. You will feel so much better in the morning.
Goodnight!~
Welcome home! I hope you can get some rest wherever you lay your head. :)
P.S.
forgot to tell ya to look at Minick & Simpson blog post today. Indigo wovens, IKATS,etc. So glad that I'm doing a more affordable route to get my pretty fabrics now.
You're almost there... hoep the turbulence isn't bad on your last flight and you find that BED waiting ready for you! Rest well this Holiday week-end. NO WORKING Allowed on Labor Day!
Air travel gets worse on an almost daily basis. My poor DH has to travel on business occasionally and what used to be a fairly routine/direct flight now is a compilation of regional airlines who don't seem to really care about arriving on time. Anyway ... you're back in the USA and home isn't that far away. Thanks for the tour of Bali ... I woke up each morning and with my cup of tea in hand enjoyed your posts. Job well done!!
Oh dear the never ending trip!
I do hope you get home safely, the flights
are a mess from Issac and the holiday.
Have a terrific Labor Day weekend when you do get home
and have some fun sharing your adventures with your family.
Happy Sewing
Thank you Bonnie for taking us "armchair" travelers with you. A lot of extra work for you but much appreciated on this end.
It looks like an amazing trip.....one that will change your life in some positive ways. Your descriptions and personal thoughts were great. Loved not only the batik process, but the temples, animals, people etc....and sunrise shots.
There's a lot to be learned from the people there.....starting with gratefulness. I can't imagine how my life would change if three times a day (or even once) I stopped for a moment and was grateful for my life and everything in it. I think I shall try.
Rest up, you deserve it. Thanks again!
Sorry, We're a 4 hour drive from DC, not much help this time, But if you can only get a connection to Norfolk, then we can help you. . .So great to hear about your travels.
I have enjoyed your trip so much. I really wish I could make the same trip. Was there a serious duty on bringing back fabric? I wouldn't have been able to resist bringing some back if it weren't too expensive. All the quilts you make with your fabric will have wonderful memories.
Love reading about what you are doing, almost on a daily basis Bonnie. One question - are you sewing your hexies over paper and do you glue or sew. Sorry you've probably answered this before, but too much writing to look through. VBG! :-)
