I decided to frame the quilt with a wonky snaggletooth border ala' Gwen Marston! I have always wanted to do one of these, but thought it would be a lot of work....since I didn't have much work in putting the top together, I decided I could take the time to piece in the border....more and more it is coming together!
I'm going to have the snaggleteeth change direction in the center of each side...not sure what I'll put in the corners...it's a 4" border..so anything in there would have to be very small...if anything. Maybe just plain background squares for eye resting spaces.
And here in a bit I better get my act together and get myself ready for christmas eve!

this is really turning out great Bonnie-how fun that quilt will be once it's completely bordered! Nice to see you having such quality me time-your cruise, your personal stitching projects, and soon, time with Tonya-all great things. Hope you have a very happy holiday.
Love that border! Great idea.
Have a very Merry Christmas!

That's turning out well! Did you decide on the snaggletooth border after meeting all the redneck tattooed cruisers? :)
I think you're right about the plain squares for the border corners, if not that, a blue/white hst, maybe?
Was it difficult to put together all those blocks of all the different sizes? I don't see lots of spacer strips - looks like a puzzle to me!
Love how those spikes look - perfect choice. I like the idea of the background fabric for the corners, but you could also consider continuing the spikes out in a straight line. All of your posts have been a wonderful christmas present to all of us! Merry Christmas.
I absolutely LOVE the snaggle border! Never seen one before and I don't think you could have picked a more perfect one for this quilt :-)
Very NIce.
Oh Bonnie, You truly are our shining star! I loved looking and searching for the block I sent in - there were several others like mine so it was difficult to find, but I think I found it at the top - 2nd row next to last block. :-) Your "wonky snaggletooth" boarder is gonna look perfect! Like star points sticking out - and I am sure you will come up with something great to put as the corner stones.
I love following your blog - you are a true inspiration to all of us!!! Thank you for taking the time to post what you can with your busy life. Also, so glad you were able to take some time with your honey and go to the
Caribbean! You certainly deserve a break!
Merry Christmas and thanks again for sharing your talent with us!
Love from Texas! ~Bonnie Minor
I was wondering about those blocks....that is a hard project to get all those different sizes to work. It looks great with that border!
