Yesterday was deemed the unofficial shop hop day for Emily's Stitchers!
Before I knew it, after making my good morning rounds and feeding the two feline beasts waiting at the back door...folks were marching down the front walkway to their designated cars and off they went!
Some to Quilts on Main in Galax, some to Batiks, Etc in Wytheville and some even going further afield to Fancy Gap Pottery & Fabric Outlet in search of treasures!
No people around (Spare one dedicated quilter who decided to stay behind and sew) and just a smattering of projects in progress up on design walls.
They all flew the coop!
But projects are still showing progerss!
I spy the beginnings of a holiday runner!
Kits are perfect for retreat sewing!
Pretty fussy cut birds.
Some spooky show & share from the lone left behind quilter - and my partner in road hiking!
This is the top she finished yesterday - so fun!
And this one! I love it!
What a great way to use fabrics with big prints and showcase them.
Spooky fun! I love Halloween quilts.
In my own studio - more half-square triangles. Are you surprised?
I keep needing more.
So I make more.
It was a beautiful afternoon so the two of us remaining headed out for a road hike up Roundhouse Road. All the way up to the cemetery at the top.
The little roadside waterfall is looking much more like fall as the water is now rushing over the leaves that have fallen to the ground.
A couple of others had made their way back by the time we returned from our hike - others were still MIA when it was time for me to head home so I'm anxious to find out just what treasures they brought back when I see them this morning!
Two more episodes into Virgin River and I've gotten close to finishing this motif.
After this one...perhaps only 2 more of this variety need to be made and then I can concentrate on the larger ones with the aqua surrounding the outside.
Hexies are not fast! They just aren't. But it's worth it.
And with that - it's time to draw for our two winners in the Flame Azalea Gift-Away!
We had 3674 entries! I've seen blocks already happening in different colorways.
I'm thrilled with the response!
Entry 947 is:
Diane Bayer!
Entry 3293 is:
Nancy Fahlgren

And since it's Caturday -
I took this photo of Tula yesterday - just being a kitty loaf all "tucky feeted" and giving us that look.
Photo taken through the glass of the kitchen door.
Today? Not sure. Plying it by ear. Enjoying the autumn weather.
Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Hi Bonnie! Hexies definitely are not fast and that's what I love about them! I love that EPP is called "Slow Stitching"! I'm not sure if that term is used worldwide, but I follow a few slow stitchers from Australia and that's where I saw the term. Thank you for sharing the progress on your slow stitching projects and for giving me the inspiration to work on mine!
Your Quote of the Day is just so very true - over and over again!!
Happy Saturday. Sitting on the runway, waiting for our fight to take off. Going home. Sad to leave KC and that sweet granddaughter. Hope to get home before dark. That is if our conecting flight isn't changed.
Happy Caturday!
Lovely pictures of projects going on. ...Tula looks content.
Fun seeing your project coming along....
Have a Sparkling day
Blessings 🙏
Congrats to the winners!
I've got to figure out where I left off with the Virgin River series. I was laid up with a fractured ankle in 2021 when I binge watched 2 or 3 seasons. I forgot about the new season when it came out the next year...sigh. You mentioning it reminds me that I want to finish watching it but I may have to start from the beginning again lol.
Have a great weekend, Jenny
So fun to see what everyone brings to your INN to sew while having fun with friends :0) Thanks for the mini quilt show :0)
Hi Bonnie, So glad you had a wonderful time on your recent travels, but it is so good to have your blog entries again. Can you ask if anyone knows the name of the pattern in your first photo, I am assuming it is french with the cafe and Eiffel Tower blocks. Looks like the FPP would be really fun on that one, and I have a friend that is so entranced by France that it would suit her to a tee. Have a great weekend and thanks.
Congrats to the winners!! The projects in the quilting room are spectacular. Hope to see some of them finished and hanging on the porch railing.
I LOVE Fancy Gap. It is such a cool shop with SO. MUCH. FABRIC. I also love the attached pottery/gift shop!
It is my friend's project. The name of the pattern is Paris, Je T’Aime and the designer is Veruschka Zarate of Pride & Joy Quilting.
