Tree Harvest Time!

Yesterday was a big day.

But at the same time it was a big day with the release of Moonflower and the kick off of our gift-away, it was weird in that everything happened solo - by myself, with no retreaters at Quiltville Inn -

The November Quiltvillians checked out on the same day I left for Phoenix.

The December Quiltvillians come the first week of December, while I'm in England with my Craftours group. They head home the morning after the evening I arrive home.

So essentially - I am done with retreats for the year?

And that realization had me feeling all kinds of weird about yesterday.

Pardon the windshield smudges - Hubster Dave had come by to help me move some things - and then he looked up from his phone and said "Want to go get a Reuben?"

I knew what this meant.

That meant that Troy had his "Troy's Treat Wagon" food truck set up at the ballpark in Independence.

And off we went.

I wasn't sure we'd make it in time - he closed up shop at 2pm, and this pokey half-full Christmas tree truck was just moseying up the road in front of us.

I decided to enjoy the journey.

It's great being home.  It's nice to settle in.  How many Christmases have we spent here now?

Which brings me to another funny moment that happened while I was away.

This text came from Hubster Dave:

Every year during tree harvest we watch the sides of the roads because trees DO fall off the back of trucks.

This is the photo that followed his text.

It's a cute small one!

Small tree - big stand.

I checked everywhere yesterday for a small stand, but there were none to be found - this is ours from years ago.

There is a smaller version on order that should arrive next week.

But I'm starting to feel that holiday thing coming around.  And the tree smells wonderful.

Now if only we can keep Lola off the table and from tipping it over more than once, like she did last year's edition.

I'm still doing computer work.  Old Town Part One goes live in less than a week now. You may be ready - I'M NOT!

I need 3 parts written and ready to post.  One for the 22nd, One for the 29th as I head to New York, and one for December 6th to post while I am in England.

There has been no time to sew.

But I'll get there!

Your excitement over Moonflower has blown my mind!  Thank you so much!

It was so fun to make, and I can just imagine it in so many different color plans -

I sent this little video clip out to my  YouTube followers and hopefully they were able to find their way over to yesterday's Gift-Away post to get their entries in.

Did you?

And yes, there is introductory pricing!

The PDF pattern for Moonflower is currently 25% off in the Quiltville Store, no coupon code needed.

And since we are headed into the holidays (And holiday sewing as well!)

I've also placed a 25% discount on Pine Tree Point. Price good through 12/15/24.

This quilt reminds me of all of the Christmas Tree trucks I see daily - pulling their tree harvest up and down these mountain roads, eventually to wind up in people's homes to become Christmas memories.

If you have one started from last year - why not pull it out and get going on it again? It's the perfect time!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Welcome to the weekend, folks! ⁣
And no matter how much I want to sleep in, I'm still up with the roosters and the rising sun. ⁣
What's up with that?

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

I'd say it's beginning to look like Christmas! IF only it would feel like it here in South Central Texas. We are just barely expecting our first big front next week. UGH... Today we are going to have Thanksgiving early with family, even though I wish I could stay and finish this baby quilt! Have a great day ahead, everyone!

Cute little tree! That's all you need really. Ours isn't up yet. My husband is a big Grinch. How many Christmas have you spent there?
Looks like beautiful weather there in your neck of the woods.
Blessings 🙏💞

Susan's Quilters are organizing the fabric swap for Moonflower, I am still cleaning up from my last retreat, and getting ready to list several featherweights for sale. Busy weekend!

I forget to shut off my alarm. Not up as early as my DH. He's the early bird. I have been working on my Indigo Way. Just need some Half blocks for setting and one more B block. .it won't be huge, but it will be a Flimsy by next Friday if I keep at it.
Live Christmas Trees here are not allowed. Hubby's allergies and they cost too much. Funny that Dave found a tree that fell off. Our 1st tree cost $1. We're old! Still gathering my colors. Having totes of different colors helps. 6 more sleeps.

That big tree stand would be perfect with a tree skirt wrapped around it. Good score on the tree! Candy

This time of year even a night owl like me is up with the sun, since it doesn't appear around here until about 7:30 am. Now in June, NO WAY!

I love your little tree! We are on the road right now to pick up our load of trees. We brought toys with us to help those devastated by Hurricane Helene collected from our small community. We just could not come with an empty trailer after watching all the heartbreaking news stories. See you soon!
