As soon as we hit November and Halloween is in the past - THIS starts to rumble up and down the road in front of Quiltville Inn.
And I love it!
I know some think it is too early - if that is you, you can wait and go to one of those "chop your own" tree kind of farms.
But these trees are shipped everywhere - and this is when it starts.
They will go into refrigeration until they are trucked to wherever they go.
Some trailers passing by are just loaded with boughs and branches destined for wreath and swag making.
You never know - they things you find in your local stores may come from the Blue Ridge Mountains of SW VA and Western NC!
No, not a dirty camera lens -
Just too much light!
I arrived as the November Quiltvillians were just filling plates for breakfast!
This gave me the perfect opportunity to capture quilting "still life" in the Quilting Quarters with no one around.
Licorice Twist on the design wall!
Loads of Scrappy Mountain Majesties happening!
Sweet baby quilt finish and Morning Glories in progress!
Aren't they gorgeous?
More Scrappy Mountain progress!
Lovely Asian prints!
I can't wait to see all of these quilts when done!
Happy recycled shirts!
Potato Chip/Tatami Mat quilt in progress!
And...It's beginning to look like Christmas!
I love these tiny gift blocks. They are being made out of her mom's Christmas fabric stash. SO CUTE!
And a festive finish!
I just know you can imagine the chatter and laughter and the sounds of machines humming within this space. I can hear it as I'm coming up the front walk, with the sounds getting louder as I near the front door. Such a happy place!
And still warm enough to enjoy the front porch in shirt sleeves.
Enjoy, ladies!
Yesterday I got some photos of my finished County Clare quilt!

Close up of quilting -
I machine quilted County Clare with a pale baby blue thread in an edge-to-edge design called Frisky Feathers by Hermione Agee of Lorien Quilting.
Now that this is done - whatever will I do next for a Leader & Ender project?
Today - mid retreat laundry (freshening towels and kitchen linens) will happen while some of the November Quiltvillians are shop-hopping over to Quilts On Main where there is a 25% off sale happening.
Just a note - I am leaving on Tuesday 11/5 for Arizona to spend a week with my dad. I'll return late on 11/12. I likely won't resume shipping until 11/14.
The Old Town mystery starts 11/22. If you are thinking of ordering rulers or anything that needs to be shipped in the mail, orders need to come in before Monday 11/4 by NOON Eastern so I have time to get them out to you.
Thanks for understanding! It's been a year since I've hugged my dad and I'm really looking forward to some Arizona time.
Perhaps there will be more time to play with the red/neutral triangles I need for the next project?
What is up on deck for your weekend?
If you want to mess with my need to be in charge of my shopping routine and getting things done in a no-nonsense no-time-wasting way:
Just go ahead and mess with where things are in my grocery store!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Good morning sun is shining!
My week end is going to be quiet. Reading and cooking. Leaf pick up.
Lots of new mystery quilters! Lots of gals changing colors too. Like me. I have a class on the 7th. That should be fun.
Have a Sparkling day
Blessings 🙏
Ah, yes, the grocery store conversion. They have been doing it at my local Kroger for several months. It’s hard enough to figure out a new shopping plan, but every time I go in there, they have moved things for the fourth time! Only the ice cream remains in the old spot, and I really wish they had hid that from me! 🤣. Connie Taylor
Off to find binding for my daughter's quilt, and backing for a gift quilt, and mailing another gift quilt out ...I am noticing a pattern here!!
The weather here in AZ is lovely! Very cool mornings and mild days. Enjoy your visit with you day.
Good morning! I just love all of the quilty happiness coming out of this group! County Claire is just a happy & gorgeous quilt! This weekend is all about grocery shopping, (where they probably have changed things around again!) and then slowing down a bit & getting some piecing time in! Have a fabulous Caturday!! :)
We will be in your neck of the woods very soon to pick up our trees. We plan to have a trailer full of toys for those kiddos affected by the hurricane from our community to yours. See ya soon!
You’re seeing Christmas trees & Im seeing a skiff of snow on my deck here Bancroft, ON 🇨🇦 wild turkeys & deer back looking the start of the winter buffet! Sue Ryckman
I love listening to your recording of the post. Thank you.
I feel your pain....they do this all the time in Kroger's! Why!!
My store was like a scavenger hunt when they rearranged.
I went away for a month and came back to my store completely flipped. On a positive note, my step count has gone way up!
Enjoy your time with your Dad. I lost mine when I was 30 (I am now 82), and I still miss him. Love seeing the things you are making and what the women at the end are making. I am finishing a pot holder for an exchange at our next guild meeting. I also am getting The Queen of Diamonds by Tula Pink ready to send to the quilter. And for the 1st time of my life discovered I had made a slit in the back . My solution will be to cover it with the label. Of course it would be in the middle. I am also working on your Hunter's String Star in purple and gold -- the school colors for a granddaughter who will be graduating from college in Dec. Nancy Angerer
