Quilters, Quilts, Travel, Laundry!

I said goodbye to Debbie's Bitter Bees Sunday morning - the hallways were busy with the moving of stuff, the packing of cars, the hugs and farewells.

I think it's safe to say a grand time was had by all - and I'm thrilled that they'll be back next March!

March? Why March?

Because Easter falls on their weekend in 2025, so they get to hop back to where Easter was this year.  It makes for interesting calendar management, I tell you!

Don't they look like a fun group?  And oh - the food they served!  Off the charts!

The core group is from Ohio - and we decided to have a little OHIO fun at photo time:

@quiltville_bonnie This has been my week! I have enjoyed meeting and spending time with this group of wonderful ladies! 🏡🥰⁣ ⁣ Though most are from ohio, we've got some from New Jersey and Rhode Island with us!😎👍⁣ ⁣ Thanks for bringing your positive energy and creativity to Quiltville Inn. Travel safely home, and we'll see you next spring! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼⁣ ⁣ #quiltville #quilt #quilting #quilttok #quiltersoftiktok ♬ Good Energy - Jeppe Reil

Whooohoooo!

Projects progressed through the weekend!

Blocks were played with and rearranged into so many different designs!

Centers were sewn!

More rounds to be added -

The skies cleared up by afternoon - and just look at this display!

Clear skies doesn't mean it's not windy! LOL!

Beautiful tops in progress, and finished projects!

So excited for Susie to hang her 30 year backed and batted UFO over the rail!

Also from this section - here is this sampler unfolded:

Big, bold and beautiful!

Two more beauties!

The double T at the right is in the quilting stage - an the blue quilt is extra special!

This quilt holds individual mini quilts - all made by different people.

The can be removed, and items on the back explaining each mini (sometimes with a bible verse) can be read.

Members of Debbie's church quilt guild who had a hand in this -

Fantastic job, everyone!

Another exciting thing came in the mail for me:

@quiltville_bonnie How many of you know that I escort groups of Quilters to fabulous destinations with Craftours? 🤗⁣ ⁣ We are Quilters and fabric enthusiasts traveling together, making new friends - our shared love of all things quilty creates an instant bond and we become family!😊👍⁣ ⁣ My Ireland/Scotland travel docs arrived today for our sold-out June tour. 🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⁣ ⁣ There are still spots available in my Kenya tour in September and my Australia tour in January!🇰🇪🇦🇺⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I'd love to have you join me!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼⁣ ⁣ #quiltville #quilt #quilting #quilttok #quiltersoftiktok ♬ Irish Jig - Irish Pub Society

My Craftours travel docs arrived - I'll be off to Ireland and Scotland on a sold out tour in June!

There are still spaces available in my Kenya tour coming up in September and is such an amazing experience I am repeating my 2018 trip because once is not enough.

My Christmastime in England tour in December is also sold out, but Australia is filling for January 2025.  If you want to get out of the winter cold and January doldrums - consider coming with me!

Would you believe I haven't finished sharing all of my New Zealand experiences yet?  I'm getting to it - it's just that life jumped back in with both feet and I needed to post current things.

Visit my Craftours Page with all of my tours in one place!

Those current things today?

More laundry! LOL!

And this evening we are headed down for a special birthday dinner for Casden who on the phone Saturday had to announce "You know - I'm 8 now, right?"  So stinking cute.  I can't wait to hug him tight.

So how was your weekend? What did you get up to?

Most of you know this happened 4/15/24.  Did you get your entry in?

I'll be drawing for 2 winners who will each receive a Licorice Twist PDF pattern from me, and a Splash of Color fabric roll from Cotton to Quilts.

We'll draw for our winners THIS Friday 4/26/24.

Introductory Special:  Licorice Twist is currently marked 25% off - no coupon needed!

Sale price good through 4/28/24.

I recommend using the printable 8 1/2'' X 11'' newsprint found in the Quilting All the Time category of the Quiltville Amazon Affiliate Store.

Carol Doak Paper is back in stock - but supplies are limited! They only sent me 12 packages.

And yes, there is a sale going on - all rulers. notions and tools (including Carol Doak Paper) are 15% off using code NOTIONS at check out.

And I think that's it for now -

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Laughter is sunshine filling a room.
Where there is laughter, there is also life.
And it is always better when we laugh together!

I love seeing the beautiful quilts that have been created and it’s great to see the fun the quilters have that come to the retreats. I love the blue quilt with the removable quilt blocks! The quilt itself is very pretty but what a clever design to make the blocks removable and special messages can be written on the back of each one. Truly an amazing quilt!

Oh Bonnie, enjoy the hugs from Casden, too soon he will start the side hugs!
The trips sound so fun! I'm saving for a trip or a longarm machine. Hmmm, which do I want more??

What an interesting way to display mini quilts!!! Or blocks that are slightly different sizes.

I've never seen anything like the mini quilts that pull out of their folded corners made into a quilt....fabulous idea. Great group of talented ladies, thanks again for the mini quilt show Bonnie! Happy sewing!

Love the quilt quote. This morning was errands day for me. Groceries, fabric shop for iron-on patches and to look at some fabrics of course. Back home to put things away and present lunch to my hubster who works from home 2 days a week. He's really looking forward to retirement in a few more years. Time for me to work on learning a new computer program. Hoping to be a winner in this week's drawing. As always, thanks for sharing. Best to you all.

This weekend went way to fast for me! I love the story behind the blue quilt with the removable blocks! I'm sure there is also an interesting story as to the why of it being made! I also love the 30 yr old UFO... it just needed a really long time to cure as my Dad says!! HA! I wish I could go on the trip with you, but there's only one that I could go on due to the schedules ( work & all!) but the money thing is the other issue. Maybe I need to start a "Bonnie trip" jar...;)
Tomorrow is part 2 of the STAAR test; super stressful day for kids & staff alike. Have a good evening!

You're upcoming trips sound beyond amazing.I'd love to sail the seas with you unfortunately but happily I've taken over the roll of full time nanny to my very first grandbaby born in October. Both my son and DIL had to return to work after their maternity leave that ended in January. And with the high cost of daycare they opted to have baby's "Hunny" take over the daycare situation. So most days are now busy with a 6 month old. I'd love to try my hand at your version of a pineapple quilt as it's always been on my bucket list of quilts to make. Love the display of the mini quilts....Very inspiring!
