Time flies way too quickly -
Whatever happened to those slow sweet days when summer seemed endless growing up?
Can we please make it last just a little bit longer?
Judy's Stitchers arrived on Thursday bringing their boundless energy and limitless creativity with them - filling the walls with creativity and the halls with friendship and laughter.
And I love that they brought both the hubster and me (And the doggos!) into their midst making us feel like we are all part of one enormous and boisterous quilty family.
And even though the forecast was for days of rain - that rain only happened in small amounts which cleared to beautiful weather and left the days fresh and cool.
All of this wonderful weather was much appreciated by those who had escaped the sweltering heat of those who had left the Mississippi Delta behind for a week away.
Mabel - enjoying the cool grass.
Tula, making friends as long as Mabel doesn't make any quick moves!
Yesterday afternoon - blue sky photo op!
And a newly painted house - whooowhooo!
A gorgeous Unity quilt, Grassy Creek, and a hand pieced and quilted Grandmother's Flower garden - how lovely!
Chilhowie, Rhododendron Trail, a Vanilla Latte version of Quiltmaker's Ruby Jubilee, Another Chilhowie and the great beginnings of a Blue Ridge Beauty from Adventures With Leaders & Enders.
We HAD to photograph all three Chilhowie quilts together!
Tumalo Trail from Scraps & Shirttails II, Idaho Square Dance and Carolina Chain from the Addicted to Scraps book.
I love seeing quilts from other designers - even if I don't know the name of the pattern, or the designer's name.
I have no info on the pineapple quilt - but love it! The star quilt I believe represents a university - I don't know which one and don't have info.
If anyone knows the info on any of these quilts please leave a comment below so others know where to look. Thanks for being my eyes and ears because I can't remember them all. I have a hard enough time remembering which quilt of mine comes from which book!
At the right I see Connie's Cherry Crunch and her Silver Linings from String Frenzy. She's made great progress on this top while here!
And here is her Chilhowie top and Ditch Lilies also well underway.
Rhododendron Trail and a beautiful sampler!
So pretty in pink!
One reason I love a massive porch!
I'll miss you ladies!
You did it up right and we had so much fun!
Drive safe, and we'll see you next summer!
Yesterday's try at getting Tula into the crate to take her to the vet bombed. She knew. You bet she knew just what was in store!
My problem I think was waiting too long - I should have got her first thing in the morning when she was hungry and distracted by her food.
Multiple attempts to catch her just broke her trust further and she spent the afternoon hiding in the shade under Judy's car.
She's back this morning like nothing happened begging for breakfast, of course. So tomorrow morning - watch out. I'm trying again. She needs to have that leg seen to until all of the infection is gone. So fingers crossed on that.
Laundry is running - I came early to start it and am writing this post while it runs from my office at the QPO studio.
I'm headed out at 12:15 to make my way to Hickory to see the knee surgeon. Let's hope that they can fit me in soon on this meniscus repair - better sooner than later.
There are still a few spots available!
Come to Poland with me!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Simple doesn't mean insignificant.
That's it That's the Ted Talk.
The simple things you do today ARE significant!
Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!

Hi Bonnie, I think the pinapple quilt is "Pining for you" from Tula Pink.
You gotta love those Mississippi maidens! Bless their hearts - LOL!! Born in Clarksdale, with love.
Thanks so much for your blog! I love peeking into your world and seeing all the quilts that your retreaters create. Susan in Iowa
The over the porch railing never fails to impress me.
Just getting back from the shop after dropping off my husband's truck that needs electrical work.
I'm getting ready to press the backing for Chilhowie..then onto loading it on the frame.
Hope all goes well for you at the surgeon office.
Blessings 💞🙏
I was just going to say the pineapple was a Tula.
A spectacular quilt show! I was blown away by the 3 Chilhowie quilts - such talented quilter makers!
Hi the pink sampler quilt is a free pattern from Pat Sloan. It can be found under completed projects on her web site.
I remember seeing so many pineapple quilts at Kapa'a Stitchery in Kauai HI.
Bonnie, positive thoughts and prayers for a quick surgery appointment.
Our dog used to hate cars, because he only ever went to the vet in one. So maybe getting her used to the carrier and getting treats is the way to have her not be afraid of it? Good luck!
Oh, I love the Tuesday "Inspiration show!" :)
I have been slicing and dicing on some scrap piles, trying to get them in the containers where they need to be, but you know how that goes! HA! Lots of little piles being taken care of, so I am making good progress there. Time to get back to sewing, soon, though... Lots of patterns running through my head. I completely agree with you about the summers not being long enough; I head back to work in (gulp) about 2 weeks! YIKES!! Oh well, at least some of my quilty goals have been met this summer!
The stars that are sashed in red are from a Signature Block Swap done by the Possum Town Quilters (Columbus, MS) several years ago. Donna
Been busy getting ready for Quilt Guild tonight. Loved seeing the porch pictures. And the sneak peak of what you're working on.
I also think the pineapple one is a Tula Pink design. Absolutely LOVE her bright fabrics. Have I made anything from my many collections of hers? Umm, not YET!!
Could also be a variation of Jackie Padesky's free pinapple pattern . It's on the free download page of Pat Sloan
The Pineapple quilt is a pattern sold by quilt shops utilizing Tula Pink fabric. It is cute.
