Quiltmaker Jan/Feb '23 Gift-Away!

Happy Monday, Quiltvillians!

It's been rainy and yuck on the mountain - and to me there is nothing better to chase away the winter blahs like flipping through a delicious quilt magazine full of spring projects!

I'm particularly excited about this one as there are several projects focusing around our love of sewing machines and notions - and a great way to use up our scraps!

The whole issue is about celebrating our machines, and there are articles on vintage machines as well, so you know I was soaking up every photo and every word!

Check out this adorable machine mat!

It was designed my Madi Hastings, and is found on page 48.

I love this one!

Check out the size of these spools!

Here's the whole quilt.

And of course there is this:

My Addicted to Scraps blocks:

X-Plus!

This is such a fun and easy block and is Scrap User System friendly!

I have two issues to gift away this month! Would you like to win a copy?

If you live outside of the USA and are drawn, we can send the issue to a friend within the USA who can forward on to you.

We'll draw for our two winners on Saturday, 1/14/23.

Good luck, everyone!

How I spent my weekend!

Many flying geese were made. It's no muss, no fuss when using my Essential Triangle Tool!

Joining pairs.

Now that's more like it!

Zoey, queen of all she surveys!

It's kind of a zoomed-in photo.  I put the phone up against the sliding glass door and snapped her while she was watching for birds and squirrels and sniffing the air.

Other than it being a relaxing and very-sewy weekend to finish the border geese, we did take some time out yesterday to go to see the new Whitney Houston movie 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' at our favorite Blue Ridge Movie Lounge.  Trailer HERE

We both loved it.  So many iconic songs.  What a voice.  She is greatly missed by all who loved to hear her sing.

Today?  It's a desk day.

The PDF pattern for Unchained is releasing on Monday 1/16/23!

Oh the fun I had making this -

I can't wait to share it with you!

Bonnie, I was working on a New Years Day mystery quilt with another designer, she was doing a LOT of flying geese - I tried a few her way, then got out your ruler and did all the rest your way -- SOOOOO MUCH FASTER to do them your way and so much less waste!! I did recommend she check out your ruler and way of making flying geese!! Just wanted to give you kudos for such a fantastic ruler and teaching!!

Zoey cracks me up. She donesn't care what time of year it is. Outside with her nose in the air. And everything is interesting. Love the Triangles. The blue goes so well with the hedgehog. Just cute.

I am also looking forward to the new pattern. Jenny Doan quoted you in her kaleidoscope video a week ago. "If you don't like a fabric pattern, you just haven't cut it small enough" this made me smile. Thank you so much for all you do.
