This is last evening's dinner on the porch - accompanied by the hum of the Generac -
The moment we've been waiting for (and hoping it would never happen at the same time) came to fruition during a summer storm and power outage.
I always wondered just what would happen SHOULD this happen, and I was there to find out!
The power blipped on and off, and on and off, stayed off, and within a few seconds the hum of the Generac started up and all systems were GO!
The Sewciologists never missed a beat. This proves to me that putting the inn on a whole house generator was the right thing to do at the right time.
The power was out for 8 hours. And the Generac did what it was meant to do.
Can you imagine a retreat with power out for 7 hours without a Generac?
There were quilt top finishes while the generator powered everything!
Quilts continued to be built, filling design wall spaces.
Villages popping up on this wall!
A bohemian style hexie quilt appearing here!
Any guesses what this is?
Pumpkins set and bordered!
The little bird blocks are a temperature quilt under way by Irene – the workmanship is incredible!
Some Lori Holt summer blocks and that beautiful Garden Party from the Addicted to Scraps book before borders went on.
Saturday night was our "Night on the Town" and we all enjoyed dinner at The Hotel Tavern in West Jefferson - even the Hubster came along, the lone rooster in our flock of hens!
Two girls double-deckering it on the couch while our own Generac ran at home.
This morning the sun is back out and ran is in our rearview.
It's the last day for the Sewciologists and I'm sure they will fill every minute of the remainder of their time here with quilty love and laughter.
You know what else happens today?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Self confidence is a super power.
Once you start believing in yourself the magic starts happening.
Back in 2015 our Leader & Ender challenge was to build a tumbler quilt in any size from your scraps in between the lines of chain piecing other things.
What a fun challenge that was!
It's almost July, be watching for this year's Leader & Ender challenge to drop this week!

Power blips are no fun, I hate having to reset all the clocks. Hot hot days of Summer here in PNW for a Monday. Gotta wear shades.
Congratulations to the girls.
Love that Garden Party quilt. Thank God for the Generac!
🌧️ Rainy day here today and we need it. Everything is dry.
I'm on the last border of my Oklahoma Back roads..
Lots of wonderful projects on the go! LOVE the Solidarity project with the Canadian and New Brunswick flags!
Ooooh! Looking forward to the new leader and ender! So grateful, Bonnie! Thank you!
Also got to start the portable air conditioner ;-) They promise cooler tomorrow here in the PNW!
It was so nice to see all the quilts in progress. I liked the quote and the tumbler quilt.
Do you have the name of the pattern used to make the "high rise" houses block? I've been searching for it.
It might be and Edyta Sitar pattern. Laundry Basket Quilts
