I am fascinated by the effect it gives as seen here in Kathy's gorgeous hexie quilt in progress.
Llamas!! Strategic placement of floral motifs, and do you see the darling pinwheels?
Each little fussy cut hexie brings so much to look at. Such a delight!
It's good to have more than one project at retreat.
Sometimes you feel like some pedal to the metal action, sometimes we want to sit quietly and hand stitch at the end of the day.
There is no reason you can't do both!
Martini glasses! So much fun!
There are a few folks working on Tulip Time and I love seeing them each so different!
I love this one with a straight setting!
(The color is off due to the lighting, but we'll get an outdoor photo later!)
Crumb Jumble from String Frenzy is growing!
Huge progress is happening with this lovely version of our Unity quilt.
Maymont in civil war type prints - gorgeous!
Double Delight is one of our VERY early Quiltville Mysteries.
And did you know the pattern is still available at the bottom of the Free Patterns tab? I can't wait to see this one completed. It's going to be gorgeous!
Any guesses what is going on here?
Punkin Patch from String Frenzy!
I love these so much! And it is NEVER the wrong time of year to work on Halloween/Fall projects.
And my own behind-the-scenes project is progressing as well.
I know these babies look odd and like they won't add up to much, but just wait!
There are so many fun scraps in here!
I can hardly wait to start putting parts together.
My plan for today? Grabbing anyone willing and able to go for a walk with me, and then see how the day unfolds.
I know there is a group from retreat that wants to head over to the quilt shop in Wytheville and run some other errands as well.
There are some others who wanted to run to Goodwill for shirts for quilting, and I mentioned I have tubs and tubs in the cellar, why don't they shop my stash and save the gas?
I also have a project using recycled shirts under way, and I'm excited over their desire to dig in and add some recycled fabrics to their projects.
There may be a lot of shirt de-boning on the porch this afternoon!
Do you have anything fun instore for your weekend ahead?
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
And thankfully the opposite is true!
The kind things we say can heal wounds we cannot see.
Your smile can be the one thing that makes someone's day.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

My weekend started last night with a Graduation. The Rain held off until almost the end. 110 Seniors ready fir the next step. Party later today, another 2 hour roadtrip to go back. Busy week June is just starting. Glad you have shirts to share. Lucky retreaters.
No quilt time today. It's Class Reunion 50 + 1 today. 1pm is Barberton history at the the Piggery and Dinner 5 to PM. Full day.
I am going to a local organization that provides donated fabric for charitable purposes. The guild that needs it makes pillowcases for a local shelter and they are out of fabric. After that I'm going swimming at my daughter's house to try to get some strength back after being in the hospital recently. Then I will be back home and maybe after a nap I can finish quilting a top that I started last year. I have been able to sit for limited periods of time at the sewing machine.
Years ago, I read an article about hurtful words being like grabbing a bag of potato chips and squeezing the bag. The bag didn't look any different...but when you opened it up, you could see how broken the chips were. So for years, we used that analogy with our kids: be careful of your brother's potato chips! :-) Love your quote today.
Still yoyoing! I'm going for a queen sized coverlet that hangs over the edge.
Soo humid out there lately. It's hard to breath..staying in the cool dry air conditioning.
I have 2 hummingbird feeders outside the window..I watch 3 hummers feed throughout the day.
Really love fussy cut hexies, these are such fun. The other quilts are adorable loving those glorious tulips. Well done ladies xx
Hope you are getting your strength back, be patient and kind to your self. It is just 7 months for me since total reverse shoulder surgery and 9 months since open heart surgery so understand wanting to get back to normal. You will get there! Prayers for your recovery.
This has been a good first 6 months of this year. I have done some quilting along with other things. The best is My great granddaughter had a baby, my first great great grandchild in March, a little boy. And my youngest grandson graduated from high school and also had his 18th birthday.
