This is such a happy site!
One by one the quilters arrived -
Happy smiles and elbow “air bumps” and much offloading of quilty stuff!
This retreat was planned for April, and moved TWICE due to necessary lockdowns and all else we have been going through -
But all in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend – and it certainly beats the rainy weather we had in April.
Parking in front of the QPO!
And the food is absolutely fabulous!
And there was a special treat -
We were treated to a fabulous wine tasting by Grassy Creek Winery from nearby Elkin!
They brought a fabulous array of wonderful wines for us to try (and yes there were other beverages for those who would rather.)
We really appreciated their coming out to us!
Eating, Drinking enjoying the porch!
Golden Guernsey blend – yum!
We loved this one bottled in old style milk bottles – the vineyard property used to be a big dairy operation (See the dairy barn on the cards above) and this is in keeping with the property’s past!
And yes, there is sewing going on!
Making a memory quilt out of a husband’s favorite shirts – wonderful!
There is much more going on but I wasn’t there for most of it - I seem to have a problem with the Quiltville Store. It went missing from the tab on my website and I have spent hours trying to get it back – hosting two live chats at the same time for my webhost and my web store host.
GAH.
Still not working -
But I hope it will be by the end of today.
Two more stitched last night!
In other good news (and why I wasn’t with the ladies more) the boxes of Love Your Creative Space arrived and I have been busy getting those out.
The copies I had are all sold and spoken for, but I have more on the way and will be adding them to the store soon – as soon as it is back up and running again!
And into Friday we go!
Any plans for your day ahead?
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Never doubt who you are and how far you can go.
And never let a downed online store get you upset!

Hope you get your store back up and running soon. The Hexie/string blocks are looking good.
My day is full of moving totes to a new Apartment so they can fix plumbing in the old place. So glad the Quilters finally got rescheduled! What fun to sew those stars to strips sewn random on a square. Scrappy is so happy in your world. Have a great weekend. Love and air hugs from Nebraska. Formerly Walla Walla.
Is there a pattern for the memory quilt out of shirts? I need to make one from my late husbands shirts. This photo just spoke to me. Thanks
Yes there is.

The great thing about your followers is that we will come back later when you have the store working again. You've got Quiltville Inn looking wonderful! I hope to see it some day.
Found the pattern. Thanks. Here is the link

Oh how fun to have a quilt retreat AND a wine tasting party!
That table of hors d'oeuvres looks absolutely delicious... my mouth is watering!
Bonnie, you inspire me every day. I'm a new quilter and I so admire your quilts and your attitude most of all. Leaders and enders is going to be fun and I'll stay tuned. much love...
Just discovered you a while back and have been watching ever since. You are such a good writer and make your inn, quilting life, etc. come so alive and so interesting. Keep up the good work. I have been quilting for 30 years and can always learn something else.
I've been gifted star hexies that are made of feedsack fabrics and pieces of feedsacks too- Your blocks are inspiring me!!! I'm not sure of I want to do the string piecing or just make corner pieces- but it's a start! Thanks for all you do to keep us positive. I read you everyday at the start of my day- and it sets a great mood!
I love the shirt quilt blocks too cute. Looks like a fun retreat. I hope we get to have ours in October.
