We Be Sew Gellin’! SewPad Gift-Away!

Say hello to my new favorite thing!

My friend Debbie first told me about the incredible gel pad she had received – raving about how she could sew for hours on end with no hip or back issues -

The only problem was – her hubby kept stealing it to put behind his back in his chair!  It has become a family favorite comfy thing, and I can just about guess that Mark is going to have his own (as in Keep your Paws of MY SewPad!) come Father’s Day!

What is a SewPad?

SewPad™ is filled with a thick cushion of proprietary viscoelastic polymer gel– the same stuff used in surgical mats and wheelchair pads.

Unlike foam (memory foam or otherwise) gel doesn’t bottom-out and it provides comfort and support by diffusing and distributing pressure.

Upholstered in a plush layer of AirFlex™ fabric, SewPad™ helps your backside stay cool while the no-slip bottom keeps it from sliding around in your chair.

SewPad™ was designed for quilters and crafters, but we think you’ll find other uses as well.

Church. Stadium seats, in the car and anywhere else that you might expect to be sitting for a good while.

Being comfortable is a wonderful thing!

 Mine arrived!  YAY!

This thing is thick and heavy!

In fact, I plopped it right down on my postal scale because I was curious – and it weighs in at 4 1/2 lbs of ultimate seating comfort!

The back side is grippy for no slippy!

Right on top of my sewing chair it goes.

Job number one -

Getting the binding on my Unity Quilt Along!

And then I turned to piecing the rest of the afternoon on those Snails Trail blocks – no sore tailbone, no hamstring fatigue from sitting long hours.

This thing is a miracle.  I can see why Debbie raved about it so much.  This is such a wonderful addition to my sewing studio and will cut down on my Chiropractic visits saving me money in the long run.
  • Gel Comfort Seating for Quilters!
  • 1/2” Thick Medical-Grade Gel Filled
  • Cushions & Supports Your Hips & Back
  • Sit Longer in Much Greater Comfort
  • AirMesh® Cover Keeps You Cooler
  • Feel Better at the End of the Day!
  • 100% Made in the USA
Gary and Laura, the owners of SewPad have graciously offered up a SewPad for Gift-Away here on my blog! (Feel free to visit the website and order one up if you don't want to wait.)

One lucky reader is going to find themselves in amazing seated comfort for hours of sewing pleasure - a value of $89.95!

This Gift-Away is open to anyone anywhere, but due to the weight it must be shipped to an address within the USA – Folks living outside of the US may have it shipped to a friend with a US address and they can ship it on to you.  Thank you for understanding.

We will draw for our lucky winner on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

A bit of baby surgery happened today -

Someone’s toy had lost its tail!

For those who were horrified that I would “Let that dog tear up a quilt!” in regards to yesterday’s Unity Quilt Reveal video. Zoey has had these flat babies since we first brought her home.  She is tender with them (as tender as a puppy can be with teeth!) and she was the same with the quilt.

Still – this little fella needed some reattachment services and we were good to go again -

Thanks, mom!!

It started pouring last evening.  It has continued through the night with a huge deluge happening right around 5:30 am and I have been up since then – there was no going back to sleep.  Still, I love the sound of the rain against a metal roof.  So soothing!

In between rounds of heavy rain I will wander my way back to the QPO and plop myself back down on my SewPad and enjoy the day of stitching away.

Anything interesting happening for your Tuesday from where you are?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Rational fear exists to keep us safe. It is not inherently bad or good but a tool we can use to make better decisions.

Your fear can only control you if you let it.

2000 pyramids quilt made during the Y2K year 2000 charm quilt craze using 2000 fabrics. I gifted this quilt to my sister and her family. Tutorial found under the free patterns tab  at the top of the blog.

Have a great Tuesday – the best it can be!

Would love to win this seat cushion as I have started to suffer from discomfort from my long hours of making your quilts. I love your mysterious reveals and I can’t stop sewing until I see the end. Your patterns are the best!

"doesn't bottom-out"....lol...nice pun!

That cushion looks very well made. I think my husband would be stealing mine and so would my gaming son. I remember the puppy years very well there are still reminders every where, chewed up hoses and a favorite screw driver handle come to mind. Shoes are not safe to leave at the back door especially flip flops.

Have you ever published a pattern for a triple Irish chain? I think that is what it would be called. It has 3 diagonal lines instead of one. Thanks for having coffee with me every morning.

My day was started with hubby getting a 2lb bag of active dry yeast. If you have a Gordon's Food Service store in your area and need yeast they may have it in stock. It was 6.49 for the bag so I was really happy as that will make over 49 loaves of bread in my machine. They also had a 1 lbs bag of rapid rise for the same price. They carry bread flour in 25 and 50 lbs bags. GF flour is also available at great prices in the large bags. Love that sewmat. It is amazing how little things like to and yeast make our day.LOL.

I love your quote today, it is so true we need to keep our fears in check. Every morning I check the virus updates for my state and county then go on with my day. When we leave the house we have our masks, our antibacterial wipes/gel and we wash our hands often. We don't let this consume our lives. We need to all pray for a vaccine to be developed soon.

Bonnie, what a nice give away. Sure would make a nice birthday present to me this coming Sunday. I’ve got all digits, limbs crossed, will wish on a star this evening. Still loving you’re blog and enjoying Zoey Jo’s antics...

We have an "emergency room" for our stuffies that need repair. I wait until I have a few to sew and the puppies sit at my feet waiting for their babies to come out of "surgery". Thanks so much for sharing Zoey Jo with us...I look forward to seeing her on your posts.

Love that Zoey! She was so cute doing somersaults on the quilt yesterday. Our pups are 5 and 1 and give us unlimited entertainment. Patty McDonald

I always smile when I see Miss Zoey Jo with her little flat babies! My dog has flat babies that she loves too. If they're stuffed when she get them, the first thing she does is tear the stuffing out and then they really become her favorite! I don't know why she doesn't like stuffed toys but it's fun watching her get them just right. Have a beautiful day Bonnie ❤

This is such a great post and thanks for pointing out this product. I might have to buy one if I don't win. I have a garden kneeling pad I use when I attend Sew Day and am going to try that on my work chair. This gel pad comes at the right time. It might be the solution to help my hip. Thanks for taking the time to post and be positive.

I am still astounded at the "I'm horrified " quilt police comments that readers think they have to spout. Your quilt, your dog.

This seat pad looks very comfortable and I will definitely be looking into buying one. A few years ago I bought a recommended seat cushion that was a good cushion but not sturdy. It was hard to keep my balance while sitting on it. This one looks so much better. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for including Zoey in your blog. She makes my day. So fun to watch. Enjoy all the time you take out of your day to fill our minds with everything you are doing. Quilting has been a wonderful way to fill our Covid time.
Thanks again. Enjoy reading every word. The chair cushion looks like fun.

Had not heard of these SewPads, but will definitely be saving up for one (or some), as my bones are getting older plus we do not have air conditioning in our home and I don't like sticking to my chair in the summer heat! LOL! Thank you for the heads up on this, and also the wonderful Unity quilt-a-long!

My arthritic back would be thrilled with this pad.

Rhonda Albrecht said...

My thoughts, exactly. Who knows her puppy better? If she didn't trust Zoey Jo not to harm the quilt, then the puppy wouldn't be around it. That puppy has taken to quilts very well, from the moment she came home!

Thinking we're going to need two of those at our house. I'm all for trying something to ease the pain of sitting too long and making me able to stitch longer. Zoey is so darn cute. So happy to go plant shopping today, so tomorrow will be a break from stitching while I play in the dirt.

Would love a chance to sit on that cushion

I have not heard of these pads, but I sure would like to have one. My rear end sure gets tired as I'm older. Not much padding back there any more.
I love seeing Zoey and I'm so glad she has a wonderful home.

Thank you for sharing about the SewPads. Ordered one today! Sitting is not my friend any more. Always looking for helpful gizmos.

I would love to be the lucky winner of this cushion. Looks very comfortable.

This SewPad may be the answer to my back issues. I have purchased and tried so many other brands. Thank you for the offer!

Sewpad looks and sounds real interesting since I do sit most of the day and it is hard on the body for sure.

We are in our 4th day of rain & dark skies so I'm spending time inside working on projects in process and making lists of what I'd like to accomplish in the coming weeks. I hope the sun comes out soon to dry up the ground a bit so I can plant flowers and put my hummingbird feeders out again.

Would love to try out that cushion, thanks for the possibility.

It sounds like everyone needs a SewPad in their life!! Our (now deceased) dog, Edison, of 17 years would occasionally have a mishap with his squeaky toys and I would have to repair them - he did love to squeak them! Thank you for the awesome chance to win and have a wonderful day.

This "sewpad" looks incredibly useful! I am sure it would give me relief when I spend way too long in my happy place (sewing room). Thanks for the chance to win it too!

Thanks for showing us the SewPads. I'll be saving for one also. I've bookmarked their site.

Oh my! I'd be dragging that cushion around like a toddler and a favorite blankey!

Oh that looks like a good thing!

my back is saying awwwww just at the thought of it

Ptquilter said...

Why do people say things like that (letting Zoey tear up your quilt)? You could definitely tell in the video that she was being gentle and we all know you would definitely not have let her continue if there was a chance she was harming it. Eye roll (since I'm on my computer and not on my phone) LOL

That cushion sounds sooooo good. Would love to be the winner!

I entered to win...but I usually don't...so I ordered one anyway...can't wait for it to help my poor aching back!

I have a plastic one but this one sure looks more comfortable than mine. Thanks for all you are doing and for your encouragement to us. I am collecting your PDFs for the Unity quilt and one of these days I will get to it. I have 5 others that need to be quilted and finished.

Love you daily quotes - sometimes we all need a reminder on how special we as quilters are and how lucky to have family and friends. We all are a special breed!!

The sew cushion sounds awesome. I would love to win one. I am an FCS teacher and at school I am up and moving all day long. But since we are virtual schooling, I am sitting all day and it is awful. I miss my sewing and food labs, I miss seeing the kids and I hate sitting all day!

I am entering hoping to win. The SewPad looks marvelous and I bet it feels even better, lol!

If that sew pad helps your back I really would love to try it. I have terrible back pain from a car wreck and there isn't anything that can be done other than getting out and walking..
