April ‘19 Quilty Box Gift-Away!

A terrific box of Carolyn Friedlander Goodness!

Hello from Mineola Texas!

Irene swung by DFW yesterday afternoon to pick me up and haul me off toward East Texas – to the home of Stitchin’ Heaven quilt shop!

I’m teaching a 4 workshop series starting today, and I am looking forward to spending the next several days with everyone!

Before I share with you the fun we had romping amongst the Texas bluebonnets, I thought this would also be the perfect day to get this little give-away going.

Everything you see here is in the April 2019 Quilty Box.

Oh, you know how I love yarn dyed plaids and stripes!

These will mix right in with my own shirt stash!

This new collection by Carolyn Freidlander and Robert Kaufman is called “Hello, Harriot!” Inspired by Thomas Harriot who is credited with making the firset drawing of the moon through a telescope, melding history, observation and drawing.

A mixture of yarn-dyed wovens and screen-printed designs, Harriot celebrates neutrals and textures.  We know you’ll love working with this assortment of beautiful quilting cottons!

Pineapple Grove Flatter: 3 oz bottle of Flatter, a starch-free smooth spray that relaxes wrinkles and freshens fabrics.

Fine Mist Spray Bottle: This 10 oz spray bottle pairs perfectly with the Pineapple Grove Flatter included in the box.

Aurifil Thread #6726 50 wt – 200 yard spool.

Bundles of Inspiration Magazine including paper piecing patterns for Carolynn’s NOTCHED quilt!

Carolyn Friedlander’s charming smile lights a room!

I enjoyed reading the articles about Carolyn and learning more about the woman behind the name.  I love the direction her quilting and designing is leading her!  Yes, you CAN make modern quilts with very timeless traditional fabrics as  shown here!

Along with the winner of the standard Quilt Box shown above, we will be drawing for a winner of the Quilty Box Mini:

Cute to a T!

Our winner will receive a charm pack of the Harriot Line, a spool of Aurifil thread and the Bundles of Inspiration Magazine, including the Telescopic pattern for a 32” X 39” wall or baby quilt – perfect for that special someone whose name begins with T!

Here are some highlights to keep in mind:
  • Quilty Box is a monthly subscription box of fun quilting supplies. We offer plans from $44-48/mo.
  • 5% of the profits of multi-month subscriptions are donated to Quilts for Kids - a non-profit which donates quilts for children in need
  • Each month we have 4 or more products (fabric, patterns, thread, or notions)
  • Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $60

I LOVE the fact that 5% of the profits go to Quilts for Kids!  It’s a win win all the way around!

Are you ready to enter?

We will draw for our two winners on Sunday morning, April 28th when I am back home from Texas. Good luck, everyone!

Meeting up with Jennifer for lunch and some bluebonnet sitting!

Happy amongst the flowers!

And no – there were NO SNAKES and NO BEES.  Just a beautiful patch of Bluebonnets along the highway not far from where we parked our cars at the restaurant we were meeting at.  How could we resist?

Dinner at our favorite burger joint later in the evening.

Last night’s slumber under Pfeffernusse!

Pfeffernusse from String Fling is our workshop today – it’s a full day of string and triangle play and I can’t wait to get started.

But first – breakfast!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

A rose setting among the Bluebonnets. Would be proud to win the Quilty Box this time around. "Sew" many wonderful items I'd enjoy trying and sharing with my granddaughters. Happy Texas Bonnie.

Your attitude is certainly worth catching, especially this morning. I am disappointed yet accepting the fact that I will miss my guild's retreat (starts Thursday) this year due to a horrible respiratory episode (flared yesterday). So I am finding the bright side - time for rest, quiet, and hopefully some fabric time in my creative space. The Quilty Box give away is right up my alley - as I have a collection of homespun just waiting to have some new friends join them. We just returned from an extended time in Texas, the pictures of y'all in the bluebonnets cheered me up immensely. Thank you - enjoy your time in Texas.

My quilt friends and I never miss a trip to Stitchin Heaven when we travel from Arkansas to Texas. We have a group going to The Bunkhouse in September.
That Blue Bonnet picture is beautiful. You really need to frame that one for your family.

Just gotta say that the mist bottle in the giveaway is the best! Good friend gave us all a homemade mix of pressing spray in a bottle. Love it!

I have yet to venture into the intimidating world of paper piecing. This would be the perfect opportunity. Really enjoyed your photos. The one with the bluebonnets needs to be in a frame.

I thought the bluebonnets were very appropriate, since you just finished **almost** your blues quilt! They go together!

I got my Quiltybox the other day!!! Thanks, what fun. I miss the blue bonnets. Was in Texas for 28 years. But I am enjoying the lilacs in Missouri. Have fun
