I am so happy to be the first ever instructor at the first annual Cozy Quilter Sew-In in Louisville, Kentucky!
The Cozy Quilter is an adorable shop, owned and run by friends Irene and Barb, who compliment each other in every way when it comes to offering what quilters want and need!
The Cozy Quilter is not just a shop – it’s a community!
When they asked me more than a year ago if I would come teach for this first ever event, I jumped in with both feet.
And I’m so glad I did!
We dug right in – Workshop space for 50!
The Hilton Garden Inn staff has been wonderful!
Chain those four-patches, baby!
(Always helps when your threads match your outfit!)
Of course the visiting with friends is part of the fun of retreat!
Choose your unit placement!
This is Sherry’s patriotic block with striped sashings on the corner units turned toward the star points. But look what this does when we turn those units around?
Okay, this can be really fun!
I LOVE those stripes, don’t you?
You'll find the pattern for Jared Takes a Wife under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog. Have YOU made one yet?
It was so great seeing these gals again!
Amy matched her project too!
LOVE that center yellow fabric and the black and whites as background.
And then there are ideas and inspiration with recycled shirts – FUN!
Look at all of this scrappy wonderfulness!
You’ll catch the rest in our video below – including live video clips from our end of workshop gathering time – hopefully you’ll feel like you are here with us, and then you’ll plan on joining us NEXT YEAR for real! Click to play:
Class time was over far too soon. It's a good thing we have two more workshop days ahead!
Today we are diving in to Wanderlust from the Addicted to Scraps book, tomorrow we take a trip to Tumelo Trail from Scraps & Shirttails II.
As for evening time – there are no photos to share – I’m working on this year’s MYSTERY! October is right around the corner and I need to get the top made so I can accurately guage the yardage requirements. And as always, I really don’t know how I’m going to finish off this one, so I’m designing as I go, which keeps things interesting to say the least.
Don’t forget that I’ll be drawing for the winner of our Ecolux Lighting 6 LED USB light kit soon! Did you enter to win ON THAT POST?
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Grow through the chaos!
Much love to you on this Friday Morning!

Wow, I love the Stripes too. What fun comes from you Barb and Irene putting your heads together!! Glad you can work on the Mystery while there. Are you hiding it in your room?
I'm not sure how exactly you do it but more than likely the quote of the day is EXACTLY what I need to hear at the moment. You just turned it around for me, Bonnie. Thank you!!!! xoxox
id like to see the recycled shirt material with a dark background!
Today's quote goes right along with something a friend told me she learned recently. She kept running into a person who had betrayed and hurt her to the core. She prayed about it, and the pain went away whe it came to her that these meetings were not about her at all, but were about the other person having to face her and confront and deal with the terrible wrong she had done. Like your quote, perspective can change everything.
As your saying goes...A storm passed nearby yesterday afternoon and took out our hydro. So it cleared time for me to hand quilt by the window and enjoy the quiet of the afternoon. Just what I needed!
I too love the stripes it just adds so much to that block, and being the wife of a former Army man, I love the patriotic hues as well!!! In short I love your column, the quotes, the pics, the ideas! Everything!
Oh we are living with storms- but i am so very thankful to have my husband walking along with me.....and excited to see what the cleared out path will be!! Thank you Bonnnie for the wisdom and the quilts- and prayers for you and your family as well.
I see your blog daily, it is crispy to study.
