Good morning from beautiful Manchester, New Hampshire!
I thought today would be a very good day to throw THIS little double gift-away goodie up for grabs in this morning’s post -
It’s the May 2018 Quilty Box & Quilty Box Mini Gift-Away and you are going to have a ball with all that is included!
What is a Quilty Box?
Here are some highlights to keep in mind:
- Quilty Box is a monthly subscription box of fun quilting supplies. We offer plans from $44-48/mo.
- 5% of the profits of multi-month subscriptions are donated to Quilts for Kids - a non-profit which donates quilts for children in need
- Each month we have 4 or more products (fabric, patterns, thread, or notions)
- Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $60
- June's Quilty Box Featured Artist will be Melanie Testa
- The next Quilty Box will ship around June 11th. Subscribers will need to purchase before June 10th to receive this shipment.
- We will be using the hashtags #QuiltyBox and #GetQuilty

Okay then! Let’s dig into this box of wonderfulness!
Oh my – can someone say SPRING!
Violet describes herself as "Mostly a mother, a wife, a friend, and a maker."
She initially followed a corporate career path early on in life, until the birth of her daughter led her to follow her passion for creating. Violet's quilt designs are stunning from her phenomenal English paper pieced lion, to her Elevated Abstractions series and amazing menagerie of animal designs and landscapes.
It is a joy to have Violet as our May featured artist.
Palm Canyon is Violet’s latest collect for Robert Kaufman fabrics, inspired by the tie she spent soaking up the sun in southern California. It features palm trees, desert views, mountain backdrops and mid-century décor. We hope you enjoy this fabric bundle as much as we do!
And more goodies to boot!
I love the prints in this fabric line – especially those geometrics – they are going to be so much fun to play with.
Also included in this box: A Violet Craft custom seam roller. Used in place of an iron, the barrel focuses pressure on the seam for a crisp press. Excellent for foundation paper piecing, on the go sewing and retreats or classes where hot iron accessibility may be limited.
Wonderfil Spaghetti thread – a 12 wt Egyptian cotton, perfect for big stitch quilting.
EverSewn thread snips – Excellent for reaching into those tight spaces for trimming threads.
County Seat Pattern!
The pattern for using your bundle is called County Seat and it was designed by Violet Craft and included in this month’s Bundles of Inspiration magazine.
Quilty Box Mini!
This month’s mini includes all you see here – the Bundle of Inspirations Magazine , a charm pack of the Palm Canyon fabric line, a spool of Wonderfil Spaghetti thread, and a pattern recipe card for making a “Canyon Jewels” runner from the charm pack included you so you can get sewing right away!
We are going to be drawing for 2 winners – one will receive the full sized box, and the other, the mini!
Are you ready to put your name in the hat?
Our drawing will happen Tuesday Evening, May 22nd.
Good luck everyone!
Arriving in New Hampshire!
Yesterday’s flights to New Hampshire came early, but were uneventful, just the way I like them. Two short flights – Greensboro to Detroit and Detroit to Manchester. Easy Peasy!
And stitching happened!
I am loving the Signature 60 wt thread for this project…so wonderful to work with.
A full full house!
It was a very happy crowd last night – and I was so glad to see so many familiar faces!
Especially fun when impromptu Show & Share happens at the book signing table!
Isn’t this great!!!
You girls really made my evening such a wonderful experience.
Today is going to be a happy scrappy mad house as we have nearly 60 quilters in today’s Jamestown Landing workshop from my book String Fling.
Let’s get this day GOING!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Vintage Puss in the Corner quilt found in North Carolina.
This is something I repeat to myself often, especially when facing a big day ahead!
We’ve got this!

Where it can quit raining any time now!
The fabrics in your Quilty Box are different from others I've seen online (Kea Bee). The fabric she got is coral and turquoise. Same Palm Canyon name tho. Both pretty tho
There are so few direct flights anywhere. That is a lot of miles to fly, even if they were short flights. North-west,and east to arrive north-east.
I'm using the Signature 60wt thread to attach a sleeve to an 84" wide quilt. It does seem stronger than my usual piecing thread, so I thought it would be a good choice for this purpose.
Hope you had a moment to enjoy the Royal Wedding today. You are indeed the Queen of Scrappy.
I Love this Quote!
One of our guild members showed the scrappy pumpkin quilt at our guild meeting last week.
Am using the Signature 60 thread for hand piecing. LOVE it and would never have found it without you.

I look forward to stringing along and completing my Bonnie Hunter Quilts and sharing them with you someday perhaps at the “ Quiltville Inn” with 14 others Quilting friends.
