All I wanted last night was to feel the fabric.
I felt like it would just be the icing on my day if I could just find a backing, cut two pieces to length, seam them together and feel the heat from the iron warming my fingers and face as I pressed that seam open, simply making it ready for loading into the long arm another time.
Just this one thing. This one simple thing.
I have a ton of this fabric. I must have bought the whole bolt, which for me means it has been marked down to $5.00 a yard and it was a great enough print and color that I knew I would use it. I tell you what, nothing is better than having ENOUGH fabric on hand that you can make a back with one seam. I don’t have time in my life right now to do a funky pieced back, even though I love doing those as much as I love doing the tops.
And it’s got 3 of the colors from my Hourglass top in it. Perfect.
Yep! This will do it!
I’m not sure when I’ll get to load it into the machine – let’s just say that the table side of the machine needs a good sweep-off before I can do it. I use the table side as my cutting table, and it does look like Hurricane Irma hit there too. Maybe this evening we can get to that and get this quilt loaded.
It’s an “Almost Full” size. It measures 79’’ x 85’’ and I’m just calling it done. There is no need to make EVERYTHING Queen to King size.
Binding? I’m thinking a lilac or close. Not too light, not too dark, just enough to finish the edges.
Done. This one is almost done! I already can’t wait to be feet up in my comfy chair at the cabin stitching down binding – Not likely to happen until October/November…but a girl can dream!
Closing in on Kit-Making Deadlines!
I finished cutting and kitting up all of the hexie star blocks for our trip to China. I leave October 19th!! It’s only a month away – time to get nervous, but very excited.
1,680 fabric diamonds and 1,680 diamond papers. There will be a whole lot of English Paper Piecing happening on this trip!
Accuquilt is not just for cotton fabric!
I’m making little needle/pin/threader packets and I used my 2 1/2’’ square die to cut the felt shapes. This was done in one pass. Everyone gets a needle, needle threader, 2 pins, and 2 wonder clips.
I’ll have extra needles on hand of course, someone is bound to lose one, but this is just for starters and to keep it simple.

Folded and clipped!
One of the clips holds the threader securely, the second holds the whole thing folded in half with everything safe inside.
Everyone’s kits will also include a bobbin of bottom-line thread. If I just work on these an hour or so at a time they will be done and ready long before we head off to meet in Seattle.
I’ve been asked if we can squeeze in another Quilt-Cam before I head out to Florida next Tuesday, and I think we should give it a go! We haven’t done an afternoon Quilt-Cam on a weekend so let’s shoot for 2pm Eastern time on SUNDAY via Facebook Live. If you miss it, the feed will be embedded in Monday Morning’s post. By Sunday I’ll be longing to get back to those Sugar Bowl blocks!
Yesterday was for pattern writing, today I’m getting the first 100 Quiltville Eco-Pouch Sets out the door.
I’ve also added another 100 sets to the Quiltville Store. Go get ‘em!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Of all the blessings in the world, I consider my friends (next to family) the most important!
Phone a friend you haven't talked to in awhile today and just take the time for a chat.
I’m even taking time today to meet a friend for lunch, much needed!
You do the same!
Have a great Thursday, everyone!

Joyce I just tried the link to the store and it worked ok for me using Google Chrome.
Bonnie that is the perfect backing and the lilac binding will look amazing!
I have Tomatoes and a Quilt to be quilted calling me today. Which one will win? The backing needed to be pre-washed and then it can be seamed together. Yea for a weekend QuiltCam. Have a great lunch out. Love the backing, and binding in lavender sounds just right!!
Order for your eco-pouches (and more) has been placed. Loving the Leaders & Enders challenge and its fun backing. Thank you for squeezing QuiltCam in on Sunday. Happy to hear your Florida trip is a GO! Enjoy lunching with your friend. I've plans Friday evening and all day Saturday with friends. Hugs, Allison C. Bayer, Plano, Texas USA
Yesterday I took my 96 year old step-mother to a funeral. She said it was such a treat. (We went to the new DQ afterwards for ice cream). The funeral was for a well loved friend and the service told so many nice things she had done in her life. So I guess it was a treat.
We will miss your posts during your China trip. I suppose you know most social media are banned there and you can not access google nor fb.
Yeah for quilt cam. A couple of weeks ago you showed a little triangle ruler for trimming up bonus triangle units. I can't remember what it was called. I think you said you were trying to get them into your store?
Hi Bonnie:
I love your Twirl around Quilt- The colors are fabulous. I think that fabric will work great for your Leader and Ender project, too.
We truly will miss you when you are gone to China, and Please be careful in Florida next week, too.

Where it rains and rains like we are in Seattle or Portland!
I remember looking at your schedule three years ago and seeing your China trip. I can't believe it is here. I hope you have a great time. Do Chinese women quilt?
8:41 am EST and the Eco-Pouch sets are already out of stock! I'd say they are a hit!
