You just can’t have a quilt workshop without some inspiring show & share to kick us back into gear after lunch time!
And the quilters who came for my 5 days of workshops in Utah sponsored by the Utah State Quilters Guild must have got the memo because the quilts, quilt tops and blocks in progress came out of the woodwork! SO EXCITING!
We gathered from all over – some from as far away as Arizona, Nevada, California, Idaho, as well as from all over the great state of Utah, so EVERYONE was sitting next to someone they never met before. This is everyone’s opportunity to say who they are, tell us a bit about themselves, and share their love of quilts with everyone else.
It’s my favorite time of the day because I get to know YOU! So if you are attending a Quiltville event in the future, remember that you don’t need an invitation to bring Show & Share, just do. It’s always welcome!

Last minute Auntie Time!
I have never seen a van packed so full in my life! Not only did it hold my two big suitcases and my backpack, but vacation gear for a family of 6 as my sister Mary’s family headed up to Idaho yesterday to spend some time in the mountains with my folks, and visit her hubby Kelly’s side of the family as well. My nephews Porter, Logan and Raiger and my niece Mykenzie hold big hunks of my heart! I love them to bits! (and their parents are pretty special too.)

After so much high desert in Utah, I forgot how lush and green North Carolina is ---and LOUD! The frogs and crickets and other critters were singing quite the welcome home song when we pulled into the drive at 11pm last night. This morning I was awakened by the sweet sound of happy birds chirping their last-day-of-July melody.
No desert here!

I’m trying not to panic over all that has to be done in the next two days. I have today and tomorrow to get everything caught up, mail order out the door, and ready for my trip to Iowa and Minnesota on Wednesday.
And there is something else putting the squeeze on my heart:

Today I am focusing all of my energy and prayers for my brother Mark who is undergoing surgery to place a shunt in his brain to drain fluid while dealing with new tumor growth.
Prayers and positive thoughts are most appreciated.

Thoughts and prayers for your brother. My DH had the same brain tumor McCain has and had two surgeries for the tumor and two for the fluid so I know what he's going through. Hoping for a great outcome!

I am glad someone else thinks the bugs are too loud. My grandson was complaining of not being able to sleep because of the noise they made, and the windows were shut!
I just heard a story about a pastor praying very loudly for a friend's father while visiting them in the hospital. The next day her dad was sitting up and eating. It worked. Hope your brother does well with his surgery.
